Best day date ?
Hi everyone. In your opinion, what's the better looking day date, yellow or rose gold? Which dial? 36 or 41 mm? If pre owned, what price range should I expect to pay in the US for the one you picked? I'm going to buy pre owned since I don't plan on spending more than $30k for a watch. Thanks in advance!

There is no best - it's all a matter of personal taste.
Personally, I love the look of a platinum 36mm day date with a blue wave Arabic dial!

Yeah Colin Nailed it, no best really.
That said, the 72 hour power reserve of the new DD40 is an improvement from all others. And of course there's been other advancments along the way. Those improvements plus the proportions and size of the DD40 make it the best IMO. As far as configuration, even though I own a choco dial RG DD40, I'm still trying to figure out which is the best. They're all so awesome! |

I like my DD to be classic 36mm white gold, green Roman like the new DD40.
Rolex is yet to make it... Otherwise chocolate everose motif dial is the next in line.

The best is the one you're wearing.
Personally, DD40 as you get the newer movement and better bracelet with ceramic inserts.

I prefer the day date 40 mm myself. The proportions are just right...

I prefer the 36 mm Day-Date, mainly because I think it looks best on my small wrist. My Day-Date happens to be rose gold with fluted bezel and president bracelet but I love them all. Yellow gold would be considered traditional.

"The best is the one you're wearing."
Boy! That's so true. Mine is about 25 years old, looks darn good, and keeps very good time. It's the traditional yellow gold, fluted bezel, and probably 36mm. If I were to replace it, I'd go for the 40mm, yellow gold, fluted bezel. The look is very classic. The new DDs are technically superior, but mine is like an old friend. |

If I was going DD, I would go with the 40.
Dials: so many to choose from. In WG, blue or green. YG, silver. RG, chocolate. Platinum...I don't think about that one much since I can't afford it. |

36 or 40 depends on your wrist size. And I prefer WG with blue Roman dial.

This one is my favourite, tried the YG with Silver Dial but the WG wins hands done.

A 72 hour PR on a Day Date is not important to me.
I either wear mine for a few days or I don't.......

Can't argue what is clearly your opinion, however let me put it this way... I also, either wear my DD for a few days or I don't. And after a few days of not wearing it, it's VERY nice to not have to set the time lol. In my humble opinion.

MY 2 PENCE IS ... 36mm in yellow gold is plenty flash for me personally .... but i think 40mm wears better on a large wrist they are at a different price point in the uk much more than 36mm models used. So it comes down to a number of factors when choosing.

A 72 hour PR on a DayDate (or any automatic watch) is not important to me.
I wear a watch for a day or a few days.
