Are you a bit "JJ" on something?

In a recent post discussing the Sopranos TV series, our good man Daren made this comment:

"I have to say, I am such a fan of the show that I may be a bit JJ on this subject though."

I think Daren deserves credit for creating a new addition to the TRF lexicon!

For clarification, here is a draft definition of being JJ on something:

Word: JJ

Function:Adjective

Etymology: Early TRF language with Canadian, Dutch, US, UK, and especially Hawaiian influences. Developed from the TRF word for "bald Kiwi loon"

Definition: Blind devotion to a company, product or thing in spite of evidence to the contrary.

Examples:

"I'm a totally JJ over those cars."

"I have to say, I am such a fan of the show that I may be a bit JJ on this subject though."

"Rolex is the best!"

LOL!

Feel free to add your own examples, and further clarification of the definition.

Is this correct grammar? "I'm totally JJ over sheep."

Geez Adrian, you said that so well, you could become an honorary New Zealander.

BTW Al, great thread!

Can I take credit for the bald kiwi loon? That in itself could not only be in the dictionary, but also one the the TRF Heritage Moments (canadians will get that reference)... cue music...

The bald Kiwi loon is often seen in his natural habitat at MOTAT and also around his domicile. This bald, flightless bird is known to be confused and even dazzled by bright shiney objects, as well as large fleshy globes. The bald kiwi loon is a rare bird, domesticated in the Pacific rim, but originates in the middle east. It has strong family ties and a penchant for saying one thing and doing another. The bald kiwi loon is an intricate member of TRF folklore and has a lifespan that stretches across three forums.

No one is crazier than you you BKL.

I know you would like to think I've been JJed over my GMT, but I do appreciate (and wear) other brands.

And I have not vanished. I've just been busy having fun in Florida. But now I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my flight. Since I had a couple hours of down time, I can afford to check in and see what you've been up to.

I can hear the theme music from "Hinterland Who's Who" now......not the new version, but the old one from when I was kid. LOL!

If you want to go back down memory lane, they have the vintage TV spots on their web site:

Don't forget about the social habits of the BKL, they are known to congregate at Mansor's....
They tend to mate for life, but tend to flip there worldly belongings when a shinier model happens to come along...
