polished or unpolished

had a submariner 6536-1 made in III/57, case and bezel insert is abit aged, should i sent for polishing or leave it with the natural aged apperance.
will the resale value be affected since it is a vintage watch.

advise please...

LEAVE IT ALONE!!! They probably won't touch it at RSC anyway, but that would take away from it's LEGACY

I think you would see a split in the community about what to do with this very desirable watch.

Leaving it original, or as original as possible, is a look that some collectors go for because it demonstrates what type of care was taken of the piece overall, ant nothing has been done to hide anything.. It also shows the watches "character"

I'm of the school that believes that the parts should be as original as possible. but if care is taken, and not too much "over-polishing" is done, then it's perfectly acceptable to get it to look pristine..

However, an original, scratched and dinged case, is always better than one that has been badly re-finished..

As Larry said this is something collectors debate. Many prefer the original look while others want them as pristine as possible. I'd have to see the watch to decide.
