111 vs 024
I have a 111 at the moment, but am toying with the idea of trading for a 024 submersible. It's looks so cool on the wrist and I like it more and more the more I see it. I'm wondering if there are any intangibles to consider, such as cost of servicing an ETA hand wind movement vs the Valjoux automatic, accuracy of the movements, ability to collect or hide the dings that show up, etc. The thought of replacing a bezel vs polishing out scratches sounds nice, too (unless I'm off on that).
Thanks! |

Both movements are very robust and easy/cheap to get serviced, so to me it comes down to aesthetics and how much more you'd have to pitch in (presumably) for the 24, and if a date is something you miss having. As for vulnerability to scratches, for sure the 24's bezel will show more marks, but PAMs look good a little worn. Depends on your sensitivity to it.
