EXP II 42mm - Too Big On My Wrist?

Hi all...Still trying to figure out if the 216570 is too big for my wrist (~6.75"). It speaks to me a bit more than the 16570, but I don't want to regret the size shortly after the potential acquisition. The strange thing is that the pics I've taken (during multiple AD visits) seem to tell different stories. What do you all think...too big? Or go for it?

PS, I know that many will say this is totally subjective and to follow my heart...I'm just feeling confused and could use some advice. So, thanks in advance!

Speaking from my experience with the 216570; if you have to ask if it's too big, than you might already know the answer. Although it's a beautiful watch, I sold it after a week (after asking the exact question on another forum). It's a shame that the watch is 2mm too big for my taste.

In my opinion, it's too big. I was in a similar situation and ended up buying the Exp II. Even last night I tried it on again after many many months of not wearing it and I thought "yep, still too big."

If you have doubts now, then those doubts likely won't go away later either.

I personally think it looks good on your wrist. But as others have stated, if you're having doubts now then it might be best to go with a smaller dial.

I think it looks absolutely fine on your wrist. If it feels comfortable and you like the watch then that's what's important, just go and get it and enjoy it.

I literally come into these threads about the exolorer 2 being to big and vote NO 99.9% of the time. And I'm almost always right about it. The 216570 really isn't any bigger than a subC once you wear it for more than 5 minutes. Its the truth !!

I traded my 16610 SubDate for the 16570 Explorer II, largely because the 16570 is more comfortable, and the 16610 is smaller/lighter than either the 116610 or 216570. In other words, it depends on the person (I have a 7" wrist.) I personally wouldn't even consider the new Explorer II or Sub-C.

You have a 7 inch wrist and wont wear anything bigger then a 16570? Geez. Most guys around here recommend a subC on ANY wrist. I have a 6.75 inch wrist and I wear a deep sea lol. I guess your right. Wear whatever the ---- you want to wear.

It's mostly those who buy SubCs. This place is full of enablers.

In reality, most of those who've become disenchanted with the newer, bulkier Rolex watches seemed to have moved on from the forums. There aren't many of us left around here, it seems.

Yes, but that Deep Sea looks too big, in my opinion, so...

Explorer ii lug to lug is 50.1 mm

Sub c lug to lug is 50 mm

Great point

Counterpoint. The dial size is as much of a factor as case size and lug to lug. My 39mm Aqua Terra has a shorter lug to lug and smaller case size than my 16570 and 16610, but it looks larger on my wrist because of the noticeably larger dial.

If you have to ask, then yes it is too big. Spend your money on something that fits perfectly

this thread is a perfect example of why close up shots are misleading!

i would have said yes it is too big, but in the mirror shots of it from a distance it looks perfectly proportioned

Watch looks fine on your wrist. My only advice would be to remove a link or two and make the strap smaller

No way! Looks great! My perspective is if the lugs don't go over your wrist them it fits.

I agree that if you have to ask, then it's probably too big. I said the same thing about a DSSD on my 7" wrist and soon flipped it for a SD4000.

Nonetheless, I do appreciate the larger face and larger hands on the 216570 over my SD4000. I find myself wearing my 216570 as my daily wearer because it's easier to read and the 24 hand always points north (when the 24 hour hand is set to local time and the 12 hour hand is pointed at the sun in the Northern Hemisphere ).

One trick is to wear it on your opposite wrist and see if it appears too big. I find that when I try a watch on the opposite wrist I get a much more objective view because my brain is wired to expect a watch in the normal place; when it's in a place that the brain doesn't expect, you get a much more objective view.
