My collection so far
I’m trying to add a Yellow gold Daytona at the moment but with the recent price increase in the UK and the difficulty with availability, I’m wondering if it’s even worth it anymore. I’m considering getting a steel Audemars Piquet royal oak chronograph instead of the Daytona, but I know I’d be disappointed. I’ve wanted a Daytona for a long time, and I feel like I’ve pretty much missed the opportunity to get one…. unless I pay a ridiculous price. Which I just don’t want to do.
Any comments on a 3rd piece would be greatly appreciated. I would like to add a chronograph really, but other suggestions would be helpful as I just don't think ill be able to get a Daytona anymore in the condition that I want, and at the price I'm willing to pay.. my top 3 hit list is: 1) Yellow gold Daytona (either new green dial or white panda dial) 2) AP RO Chrono (Stainless steel) 3) Yellow gold Blue Submariner |

Well think about it like this, Rolex will always increase its price. Even with said price increase, it will be cheaper to buy now vs. 10 years down the road...
And from what I'm hearing, no matter what, the Daytona will always be on your mind. Don't look back and think "it's the one that got away". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Get the Daytona, it seems like that's the one you really want. The other two options are also nice, but when we're talking about several thousand dollars, you can't settle.

I'd add the AP if I had the two you already have but it sounds like the Daytona is the one you want.

If you like the Daytona it's still better to buy now from a small town AD who might give 15% off on the panda dial, another price rise is still on the cards. The ROC has also had a 10% price rise and resale is as poor as on a PM Rolex.

That DD though.. Love that piece. I am a fan of getting what you want so I wouldn't recommend anything other than the YG Daytona.

Very nice. If going the Daytona route I would go for the green dial or hold out and see if they release a ceramic bezel version.
Of the three the YG Sub would be my choice. |

You are off to a great start. You cannot go wrong with a Daytona or YG Sub!

Having trouble seeing from the picture...is that DD Rose or Yellow Gold?
I'd go YG Daytona Green Dial if you can wait for one, as it sounds like what you really want. Really can't go wrong with any option. |

Have you thought any about the new D500? It's a total home run watch, and in steel, a nice addition to an already stellar line up. Two spectacular steel pieces that will take/do anything and a beautiful PM for those special nights out on the town. Yummy.
However, I'll just say this. If you're thinking YG anything, the bluesy sub gets my vote. |
