Rolex does not make a PVD watch, so the coating is not "OEM".

I think he means the dial and movement are oem. The watch is obviously PVD which is not original.

technically, no... but it is (stated) as OEM. i ssume the seller means base oem with applied pvd.

OEM by definition is original equipment manufature(d).

the finished product is now modded.

In the main, it's worth less than a freshly serviced(RSC with 2 year warranty) watch of the same vintage.
Unless someone specifically wants a PVD coated Sub then you're SOL and should expect no bites or a significantly reduced price at it stands.

The listing is clear on the points of what's been done to it.
No buyer would fooled into thinking Rolex did the PVD treatment. Is it all original? no.
But if I brushed the PCLs in a new Daytona or polished an Explorer case to a mirror finish, they are both OEM.

Rolex themselves certainly wouldn't recognise it as such. It's fashioned from an original Rolex but is now an ex-Rolex. If I add to a Picasso in a hallucinating stupor would it still be a Picasso? Perhaps more importantly would anyone buy it as such?

By the simple definition of what OEM stands for, yes, it is 100% OEM.

Umm...It's just a sub with an aftermarket DLC or the like coating on it...

Seen bunches of them. Some people like them...others clearly don't...including Rolex who won't service it in any way.

Other wise, not a big deal in the slightest.....not at all actually...

To some here, it is a really big deal.

I would say that to a person who likes a PVD Rolex, it's not a big deal.
