Ceramic Diver or Ceramic ROO Chrono. Which would you choose?

Like the thread states which would you choose between these 2? Trying to decide.

Either the offshore ceramic diver or the offshore all ceramic chrono with the anthracite dial.

I would vote diver, I have it and it is really cool, but the 44 is awesome as well, but for the price of the 44 you can get the CE diver and another nice watch, a Rolex sub no date for example, plus the diver isn't produced anymore and is getting harder to get.

If money is not an issue I'd have the 44. For me it was and I had the 15707ce

Sometimes…actually, no – scrub that!
All too often, I seriously wonder how half the membership of this place manages to get themselves up, washed, dressed, and fed, each morning!
I guarantee that within the next 6 months, somebody will start a poll thread asking what bloody cereal they should get, or how well done their toast should be!

But seeing as you asked, I suggest you get the ceramic one – unless you prefer the other ceramic one more.
Of course, you could always phone a friend and see what (s)he suggests.

Oh, and before you do start that poll, the answers are: Rice Krispies*, and light brown – so there you go, that’s one other dilemma off your list.

*If you put your ear close to the bowl, you’ll be able to hear them going snap, crackle, and pop – if that doesn’t put a smile on your face in the morning, then nothing will…

As someone who posts a lot of polls, I feel this warrants a response! I normally only post polls when I already own or am about to own all the watches in the poll.

If it were for me ... Diver. For the price of the 44, I'd save and stretch to RG 44.

Ehhhh I don't really have the mental balls so to speak to spend 35k yet on a watch. Even the ceramic ROO chrono is a bit steep for me. But I will probably get rid of it in a year or 2, actually for the openworked royal oak double balance. But the gold ceramic is my favorite ROO under 40k.

I was just curious to see what people thought here between the 2 ceramic watches. Because a decent ceramic diver is around 20-22k. But for 6k-8k more you can get the ceramic chrono.

Then technically yes, for another 6k you can get the gold ceramic, then another 6k after that you can get something else. Where do you stop at that point? haha.

Ceramic chrono is nice but at 41,800 overpriced. I opted for a RG44 and a SS44. Wait a few years and pick one up in the low 20s.

Who is paying 41k for the ceramic? Who pays full price for any watch? Ceramic chrono are selling 28-31k.

I'm referring to retail price. Preowned prices under 28, most guys will pay a little more for precious metal. RG

i picked the chrono based on the assumption that you have the wrist for it. I like it more than the diver, but the diver just fits me better.

I voted Diver but then I'm biased.

Fun fact: the CE diver is the only diver with a matte black dial.

Also had the 44 CE but it was too big, and a bit boring for me.

Great looking diver. But I'm not sure how you could think the 44 would be boring compared to the diver. The 44 has more going on with the dial than the diver. Unless the little bit or orange is what excites you?

It was too monochromic to my taste. Amd turned out to be too big for my wrist. It was an impulse buy.

CE diver also has a much better resale value if I decide to flip it, given the fact that it's in fairly good demand and practically no supply.

Yea I couldn't really find any for sale right now. There are 2 on chrono24 with jaztime but they are delusional wanting over 24k. They are the only ones I know pricing it like that.

I saw a few on here for sale at 20-21k like 6 months ago, but those are all gone. it's interesting though when I see ceramic APs at 42mm for the chrono, it seems too much stuffed into such a small face. Whereas on the steel it is not as noticeable. I think 44mm is the right size for a ceramic watch with dials on it.

I like the case back on the diver movement more than the 44mm movement. Not sure why they didn't make the back plate rose gold like they did on the diver.

Is that right. Good to know because I hated the glossy dial.

I had the CE diver. Loved the orange highlights. Great watch, but I eventually got tired of the dial. It just didn't excite me. Now I have the 44 CE and I do prefer it better. I like having the useful Chrono complication and it livens up the dial as well. For an extra 6-8k, in my mind it's worth it. I can't say enough about the quality of the finishing. I love the sharp edges of the Chrono pushers.

(Full disclosure though, I do have my 44CE up for sale to help fund moving up to the platinum 44. I liked the 44 so much now I want to get the platinum blue dial!)

Early congrats on the Pt 44mm! I think it's by far the best AP sub $100k. Love that we are seeing more and more on TRF lately
