Does this collection look right? Do I need a swap to make it complete?!

Dear friends
Good evening.
I have some confusion in my mind and looking for your suggestions to help with that pl.

I have the rolex itch going on for more than a year now😉 and acquired 3 watches in that period👍
Exp 1, 2 (black) and also sub nd.

I have 6.5 inch wrist and comfortable with 39-40 mm dials. My first purchase was exp 2 black. After I started wearing exp 1 and sub nd, I feel a bit uncomfortable with Explorer 2 😢. Hence it is not getting the love it deserves😳. Also I feel that my collection lacks variation. Some times I comfort myself stating that the collection does have variation (ceramic vs steel bezel, Matt vs glossy black dial, date vs no date)

My questions are
1) should i swap my explorer 2 for blnr?
2) or should I go for datejust blue dial.

Or should I wait for Basel 2017 to see if they release anything new and decide.

Thanks for your input and I am sure your guidance would help me to make right decision.

I actually think it's pretty balanced. Maybe add some color?

I agree, maybe a Sub LVc or BLNR.

Very nice collection. I like the idea of adding the blnr to the collection

Depends on how I read your questions. If you are saying "I'm flipping my E2, should I get the BLNR or the blue dal DJ?" my answer would be the BLNR. You wouldn't be giving up the time zone capabilities of your collection, in fact you'd be adding to it with an even more powerful tool. And the E1 will cover nicely for most of the routine DJ duties like wearing with a suit or business casual. You would also still get some color into the mix if that's a concern.

Fantastic collection

Agree a dj2 blue would be an assert
.but if you wont get a blnr fir a exp2

If anything it would be a dj2

Or

A white exp 2 - which would be more refreshing to wear I bet than the black

BLNR seems to be gaining more support. Should I be worried about PCL?

The BLNR would make your collection complete. Land-Air-Sea collection.

Thanks. By the way does the explorer 2 comes under air or land category?

Good question. Even if, the Explorer 2 has a GMT functionality, I would say it falls under the Land category. I could be wrong though. The BLNR truly falls under the Air category. Based on what I read, the GMT was initially made by Rolex for pilots and aviators.

If it were me, I would go datejust36mm with a fluted bezel, or a datejust II smooth bezel in white or blue. Then explorer2 out.

I feel Datejust 2 would be bigger for my wrist although I have not tried in flesh. I tried 36mm datejust blue dial, felt it was slightly small for my taste. Feel anything around 39-40 mm would be the right size for me. May be I should try datejust 2🤔

Huh? The DJ has PCLs too. So no, you shouldn't worry about them.

The E2 comes under land. Literally. The original idea was to use the 24 hour hand to differentiate AM from PM when caving, winter polar exploration or other activity where there is little to no daylight. Originally it was not even capable of tracking a 2nd time zone. I had actually forgotten this but was reminded in a recent thread. Shout out to our mod Adam for that.

I recently went back and forth on 36 vs 41, what I found for me is the datejust36 with fluted bezel ➕ jubilee wore slightly larger than 36, and and the datejust41with smooth bezel ➕ oyster wore a little smaller than 41. So maybe try those combos if you have not.
One last tip from my purchase experience was I went a whole day with no watch then went to an AD that night and tried on each so that I would not be thrown off by the sudden size change. Regardless you have a nice collection now and will no matter what choice you make. Happy hunting!

No collection is ever complete. However, I do feel that yours could do with some color. I think a hulk, blnr, datejust 2, or two-tone model would fit right in.

I take all your suggestions. May be trade off my Exp 2 for blnr. Or should I put my name in the list for SS daytona white dial😂😊. May be I am trying to stretch myself too much😕. Just a thought

Diversify, Speedmaster makes a nice addition. But if you must stay within the Rolex family, perhaps a 5 digit GMT pepsi?

First, don't swap. If you can add then your next watch should have some color... Hulk, BLNR, Blue dial YM, etc.

Trading anything you have for some color isn't worth it. Very nice collection!

Thanks. I would not be able afford another watch. Also if I have more than 3, I would not be able to rotate them effectively.
