need inputs asap...ym2ss vs daytona wg (racing)

guys... i need your inputs on these two pieces...i currently own a ym2 ss but an opportunity lurks for a daytona WG 116509 (racing) trade... deal is to be made later this afternoon. I have a 7.5in wrist and the ym2 seems perfect but i just can't ignore this opportunity...never owned daytona wg before.

1. You need to tell us how much cash you will be adding. Sometimes if the deal is THAT good its hard to pass up. For example, if you can do the trade and wear the Daytona for a few months and then sell it without taking any loss then that is an excellent deal.

2. The above statement is speaking from my perspective because I like to flip watches. Now for you I would say DO NOT do the trade because the Daytona wears significantly smaller than the YM 2 and if you think this will be an issue you should go for something else.

Not sure the value of the 312. How old is the Daytona? Is it a "trusted seller" on the forum?

If your a flipper then you should stay away from the white gold Daytona. They are very hard to sell. Only reason to buy would be if the deal is too good to refuse and yours is not. They might slap a ceramic bezel on the gold Daytonas in march you never know.

I'm generally not a fan of the YM II, but it looks great on you! Might be changing my mind..

x2

Actually x1000000. TWO watches and cash for a not even remotely in demand or hard to find Daytona?? It being a "racing" version (whatever that means) adds nothing to the watch value.

I never took to the YM2 saying Yachtmaster on the bezel. The blue bezel color is stunning, though.

But on the other hand, if you like large watches then you should stick to the YM. People with large wrists seem to think Daytonas are too small. And you don't want to buy a watch you will be unhappy with.

I personally think the Daytona looks great on your wrist but I am biased.

For a better deal I would trade towards a WG model.

The YM2 looks great on you. IMO, that deal would have to be sweeter to tempt me.

Depends on a lot of factors, like the age/condition of the Daytona (still under warranty, older model with the old clasp, has it been polished, etc).

Your Yachtmaster might be worth around $13,000 on the street, the 312 around $4,500, so that is $17,500 + the $3,000 = $20,500.

The Daytona in white gold is not extremely sought-after but it is a very attractive piece on the wrist IMO. Value varies depending on the conditions mentioned above but anything from $16,500 (pretty beat up and older e.g. D serial) to $21,500 (latest version, unpolished, still under warranty).

At the end of the day, only you can decide. If it is a very new version of the 116509, complete with box/papers, still under warranty, it is not a terrible deal value-wise, but you better be sure you want the Daytona because you would likely take a hit trying to sell it down the road.

Perfect reply can't say it any better. Love the WG Daytona especially that dial and tracked its value for awhile, but it is pretty rough out there. Amazing that the MSRP is over $37k.

That's too much in terms of a trade. WG Dayton as are going for way under what the yellow gold ones are going for. I would say buying value of a WG Daytona is around 18K. You do the math and see if your over trading.

Not a fan of white gold either. I own SS YM II 116680 too. I love it's case being a bigger case in diameter
