TRF Christmas Plans

Just finalized my plan: flying to Seoul late Friday night and arriving on the morning of Christmas Eve! This is the first Christmas I'll be spending with my in-laws We're going to grab dinner on the night of the 24th and spend the 25th exchanging gifts, cooking Korean food and watching movies

What's everybody planning?

This time last year I was flying out to spend Christmas in Oz

No such luck this year.

We're having everyone to us on Christmas Day and then we drive up to Scotland on Boxing Day to celebrate with my wifes (incredibly large) family.

NYE is also VERY different nowadays. We're having an afternoon NYE party with a bunch of 17 month old toddlers and parents.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Sounds like a good plan!

Heading to my parents in North Jersey Friday for lunches/dinners with everyone. Breakfast with my nieces Saturday am. Back to my house with the Mrs to host her family for some Kansas City steaks etc. our new hood has all the houses and driveways lined with luminaries, it's supposed to be very pretty. Will be sure to take pics. Christmas Day is at the in laws where we'll exchange gifts. Merry Christmas and safe travels

Enjoy Dubai. The weather has been great lately. Forecast for Christmas day is 30/21, sunny, 0% chance of rain.

We are both off so we are going cook the egg rolls my Vietnamese friend makes for our Christmas gift every year and hang out and watch A Christmas Story over and over again. It's a forced day off for me otherwise I would work as holidays are double pay.

We don't have a large family and no kids so its a great day off. I'm working for Christmas Eve and all of New Years. I don't mind and there are plenty of people who are sick on holidays or have emergencies.

We always thank police and fireman, but we need to include all healthcare workers, more. thanks for all you do Kaya. My dad is 88, is currently in ICU, so that is where I will be and sincerely appreciate all HC workers.

I went through that with my dad over the summer. A tough time made tougher over the holidays. May God ease your burden in this time and bless your dad with a rapid recovery.

Nothing fancy here. We are spending a day at the in-laws (an hour and a half away) then have my side up another day. Still planning the meal and drinks.

I'll be in D.C. visiting my wife's family. Looking forward to a little road trip.

Then off to a little ski town for nye. It's great to get out of the big cities on nye I have found.

We are still deciding. No big family plans this year and it has been really cold and snowy so no golf here for a while. We may fly down to Phoenix at the last minute to get some golf in. If not then just a nice quiet relaxing 4 day weekend with some great food.

Will you order a cheese pizza and set traps for potential robbers?

We always gather at my grandparents'. It is usually, my grandparents, parents, 3 sets of aunts and uncles, all of my cousins and their kids. My grandparents have 17 great grandchildren, so there are a lot of people in the house. Enough to were we have to turn on the AC. Then we do a gift exchange. The adults bring one gift each, and we all draw numbers. Then we fight over who gets what. It's actually really fun. All of the kids get gifts from the adults, so there are a ton of toys all around. My mom makes tamales and pazole, so we are well fed.

Ha! First two days are fairly common but you can't be having Steamboat too? Not my fave so I'm trying to negotiate a lasagne instead.
