Daytona list

Well I went into my AD Christmas Eve to get my name on the list for a Daytona white face Ceramic, Ha I can't even get in the list as Goldsmiths say it's 15 years and now closed, I have only just spent £8,550 with them for my Sub TT, well 3 months ago, I'm going to New York in May, what's the chances of getting one?
Would it be worth me ringing a AD now in NY?

I'd be staggered if an NY dealer got you a ceramic Daytona SS..... unless it's a grey dealer at way over RRP. Even at RRP work out the exchange rate, then add VAT for entering the UK and it may not be financially even worth considering.

Imo by the time the majority await there turn they'll be other more desirable models available.

I would love a black faced Daytona, but it's never gonna happen so I've settled on a sub.

What about a BLNR Matty, they're very hard to get but it can be done :) and IMO a bit more special than a sub :) not fancy one?

Hiya Nairn, settled on sub because of the brushed bracelet.

I'm about 80% sure it isn't for me though......

I may very well head in the blnr direction!

Hi mate, well I had a SubC as well as many others in the past, I loved the glidelock and it was really the perfect watch, but something was just missing.

I really liked it, but didn't love it, as it just lacked that certain sparkle.

I feel the BLNR has that certain sparkle...all my opinion of course

Chances are slim. Have to get on a list somewhere and wait your turn or pay premium.

i heard that in the UK it is more like 25 years.

Rolex are allegedly turning this into the first intergenerational model.

the idea is that you will order one for your unborn offspring.

Not going to happen. I'dnpay the premium if I were you and you really want it. At this point you can pick up a black one for mid to high 15's. A couple Knober list and tax.

if your paying over SRP, just head down to Singapore or Malaysia, any AD can help you out and you might be able to walk out with a Daytona C

Best of luck if ur able to get on a list in NYC. Speaking only to the Rolex Boutique, I heard the list is over 400+ broken into:
-VIP
-people who have purchased before from them, and
-no history people

Up until recently they were getting about 4 pieces a month

Doing the math depending on which list u fall into it could be up to 8-10 year wait. But list could get shorter as people find Daytona elsewhere or get tired of waiting. Of course opposite could happen as well more VIPs decide they want one now!

One can be easily arranged for your visit in may. You will have to pay a little more but you will have it

I am also on a list at Goldsmiths and have been quoted 8-10 years for a Daytona however I did speak to someone who got one in two years.Like many other jewellers they have a numerical waiting list there seems to be a lot of people on these lists who don't have the cash so why bother clogging up the waiting lists. A regular in my local said to me only last week he got the call for a BLNR when I asked to see it he said could not afford it so turned it down so why did he put his name on the waiting list. I am sure if all of the dreamers and people without the means to buy were removed from the waiting lists they would all be a lot shorter it would also save the jewellers a fortune on wasted phone calls.

2 years? How so when it's only been out for 9 months? Unless it's a different Daytona.

Daytona list

If you want one, from and AD, you will get one long before 15 years.

The Daytona myth is just that, a myth. Don't get me wrong, they don't grow on trees, but if you put your name on enough lists or visit enough outlets you'll get 'lucky'.

^^^This! I have purchased quite a bit this year from my AD, upgraded diamond studs twice, a diamond tennis necklace and a BLNR. They always have a BLNR in their case and it was a 5 or 6 month wait from Basel until I got my Daytona. I know they have customers that have spent much more money than I. My AD knows I'm a watch person. I agreed not to flip the watch and he knew I had the money. I didn't get a discount, but I did ask.

If you want one keep looking, prices are going to come down. If an AD knows you are serious, you can get a watch.

I believe it will be very difficult in NY or the whole Tri-State area (CT, NJ) at MSRP. However, if you call a few AD's you will be able to get a BLNR and save a lot of money.

How could he get a BLNR and save a lot of money? Even at full UK list of £6550 ($7800) (and you can find one if you put a bit of effort in) it's still around £1000 cheaper than the USA price at current exchange rate....THEN the buyer needs to pay U.K. VAT. That makes for about the most expensive BLNR ever.

Unless I'm missing something?
