How do you clean your Rolex?
Colleague of mine has some buildup of gunk on crystal, how would you get it off? He's tried most of the initial things already.

Honestly... Shower with it on then towel dry it. Finally you can rub it down with a soft cloth

Correct..
Mine has a daily shower, sometimes two showers a day. Some days, I take it off and rub it down with some shower gel. It has been getting Source, Watermelon and Jojoba recently.. Sometimes it gets shampoo. Sometimes it gets a scrub with an old toothbrush (and shower gel) too, it's always clean.. no build up of crap, ever.

Right or wrong, I won't change my habit..

I wash with hand soap and then wrist clean twice a week, I finish off with glass cleaner on the crystal. I know it sounds a bit much but i enjoy cleaning it, And it looks brand new with no dirt on it at all.

What initial things? Did he give the gunk a stern "get off my lawn"?

Water, toothbrush, soap done. Or wear it in the shower. If that doesn't do it we need more information.

I doubt the concentration of alcohol in that beer will be suffcient to casue any problems whastoever

Monthly 10 minute bath in lukewarm water and a couple drops of non-detergent dish soap, followed by a gentle wash with a soft rag and dry down with a microfiber cloth
