My SD at stormy Lake Michigan

Here are a couple of shots from Lake Michigan, near Michigan City, Indiana. A big storm had really churned things up. I believe this was the remnants of Gustav. The next 3 days were perfect, with lots of sun and surf.

Some waves! I never really thought of a like having waves since I live on an island in the ocean. I also NEVER realized you could fit easily 10-12 Long Island size land masses in Lake Michigan!! WOW I never compared the two like that before. HUGE!
Definitely SD wothry seas!
Great watch shot btw!

The Great Lakes waves are wind driven. So occasionally when a big storm system moves through, you get a couple of days of big ones.

There's a cult of surfers out on Great Lakes too, Longboards and 5mm wetsuits are a requirement me thinks.
