Rolex rant

I was just doing some research about the Roman numerals on rolexes and came up this pleasant article- http://scienceblogs.com/mikethemadbi...re-stupid-and/

Wow, there are some stupid people out there. Gave me a good laugh and thought to share.

(Make sure to look at the comments as well)

Interesting read. Thanks for sharing my friend
It seems that they had also used that kind of 4 on this ancient Spanish coin for Carlos 4, King of Spain.

Maybe not. He seems in good company. Plenty of 'stupid rich people pay thousands for a watch' type commentry from just a cursory glance.. Unsure if there are any angry WIS rebuttals but that's what is lacking.

For your personal convenience, I believe they accept checks and all major credit cards. Pay now, and you’ll avoid the additional Arrogant SOB Levy …

I really enjoy the sense of outrage, that this SHOULD NOT BE! There's a lot to be said for the current theory that our world is becoming addicted to outrage, to extreme emotion. Every once in a while, we get the screaming matches over the "Ten Items or Less" at the supermarket, when it should be "Ten Items or FEWER" by any convention. But it will remain "Less", because supermarkets sell items, rather than teach grammar. By now, I'm happy to read any comment-section that isn't loaded with racist rhetoric.

Not only Rolex other watch brands follow same suit when it comes to 4 in dial. I think it must be due to aesthics that Rolex and other brand use 4 adjacent indexes instead of proper Roman that corresponds 4
