Which Day Date to Get?

Help, me choose - I am considering the following two options and wanted to get people’s opinions.

1) Picking up a Day Date WG - Green Dial -- I can’t explain it, but every time I see it online (haven’t seen one in person yet) I want it. I am worried that over time, I might not like the green dial as much….sigh….

2) Trading in my Aquanaut 5164 Travel Time + Cash for a Platinum Day Date with Blue Dial -- I have tried on the platinum day date and the heft of the watch is amazing, just feels so solid.

Other watches in my collection that I wear regularly:

• Sub C (Black) & Sub C (Hulk)– everyday wear
• GMT II C & Aquanaut 5164 – my travel watches
• DeepSea – the beast, just love how over engineered this watch is and wear this when I want a larger watch.
• Datejust 36 (blue dial) – my first rolex from my pops, I wear this when I go visit him.

Thanks in advance for your input :) Happy Monday!

The green dial one is just magnificent. No other watch like it.

Both winners but the green sings to me personally. I'm saving the icy blue dial for Daytona.

Thanks and I can tell you I easily could have gotten the platinum and have owned 4 over the years but this one much nicer looking IMHO.

Trading in the 5164 aside, this particular DD would probably be my choice over the platinum anyway. Being able to keep the 5164...bonus.

I prefer the WG/green over the PT/blue, so the scenario of the WG/green AND the PP is a no-brainer for me.

The green dial actually looks BETTER in person than photos.

However the platinum DD wins out for me for sure. Its just such a cut above the rest. I don't know if I will ever be able to afford one but it is certainly on my bucket list!

I'd def keep the 5164, even if you go for the Platinum I'd sell off a couple of other watches instead.

That would be my call too

The new platinum 41 doesn't sing to me like the Dd2 did.

Keep your Aqua and add what I think is the best looking DD in the lineup, the WG/Green. That's what I call a win-win.

Thinking about picking one up myself.

if you only had the PP I'd say the WG and keep it. But you have a solid collection without it, even if all Rolex. I'm leaning towards the platinum and trade the PP. But you should see the green in person before you decide. How much do you like having a non-Rolex option to wear?

I have only on PP and like it, it is a great watch and very understated, super comfy as well. I have been simplifying this past year and gotten rid of my Panerais and IWCs...something about the rolexes I haven't been able to get rid of one yet, I like that they are built like tanks and I don't have to worry too much about them when I wear them.

If you are going platinum go platona. In other words go for the gold.

The platinum looks fantastic in photos so I cannot imagine how great it must be in the metal. I've never "gotten it" as far as the aquanaut or nautilus for that matter, at least not for those prices. So, this would be an easy decision for me.

I voted platinum, just before I scrolled down to see Ken's picture. How do I change my vote?
