Which Strap Goes Well With the Safari?

The Safari is sick, so I've sent her to the AP boutique in Jeddah for some TLC. So far I'm very pleased with the special care they have given me. Ahmed (the Manager) took the time to explain to me the whole process. Apparently the piece may have to be sent to Switzerland. It may take up to 4 months before she comes home. Everything is covered under warranty..

Now I'm thinking of getting an extra bracelet or strap when she comes back. I've seen some pictures of the Safari on bracelet but I would love to see if the Safari also goes well with the rubber strap. Can anyone share some pictures of their Safari on rubber strap here?

Much appreciated...

Yes, brown rubber looks good on the Safari!!
(From the Don Ramon.) But I doubt you will be able to find that anymore?!
There is a member who very recently bought & posted photos of an (aftermarket) brown rubber on his Safari, which he loves!
Scroll a page or two back and you will see it, along w the supplier, who I believe was StrapFreak but not 100% sure on that.

I think the original Safari strap looks best but the brown or white rubber strap from AP looks great too. I would not choose the bracelet as it does not look as nice in my opinion. The Don Ramon strap is indeed brown and I believe can be ordered if you call Clear Water Florida.

The bracelet may be a good switch-up from the strap and it does give it a different look that it doesn't really look like the Safari anymore but a different watch almost.

The main slight downside to this is that the watch becomes pretty heavy to wear on the wrist but certainly you can always change it back after a while

I agree with the watch becoming pretty heavy, not only in heft but also in visual presence. And to be honest, I am not sure if the dial colour goes well with the bracelet unlike the Dracula which I'm sure will fit the bracelet very well. I'm still open to the idea of buying the bracelet though as it will last almost forever..

Ok, I will do more research on StrapFreak. Thank you for the suggestion

I agree. The Original Safari strap is without peer in terms of matching the style of the dial but I'm sure it won't last very long especially in the harsh desert weather. I agree that the bracelet may not be the best match for the Safari but I'm not sure if the rubber straps will match the dial though I am keen on them because of the versatility it affords in terms of daily usage. Buying another brown leather strap maybe the best option but I must then live with the fact that the Safari will never be suitable for all situation....

The Safari kept dying even after I wound it up 30 rounds. So, in she went..

Jeddah AP gave an excellent service every time I went there. Trustworthy and upfront. I highly recommend them..

A little update on the Safari. She came back a few days ago, in great health. Everything was covered under warranty with an additional one year warranty from the factory. I've also bought her a bracelet. She is completely transformed, for the better and I'm wearing her almost all the time now...

The extra heft gives her a more solid feel and she wears more comfortably. In all honesty, I feel AP should just ship the watch with the bracelet instead of the hornback, but that's just me. It gives the piece the ruggedness that is missing when paired with the hornback. The bracelet also gives the piece the look that befits the rugged aura. My 2 cents..

It did look a bit odd though in the first few hours. After awhile, the eyes adjusted to the new look and then she looks natural with the bracelet around her..
