How often do you wipe your watch?

I find myself wiping my rolex 2-3 times a day, mostly when i put it on in the morning and take it off at night.

Do finger prints and dust annoy you as much as me?

Personally I try to do that as little as possible. I may be OCD, but I just can't help but think that leads to those "micro scratches" or swirl marks that drive me so crazy. I'm probably incorrect to think that a soft cloth does that, but what can I say.

AGREED!!!! Wipe as little as possible. All that grime can mess up the finish. If you really are a neat freak, take the watch off at home, hold it under a running water faucet with some mild dishwashing soap in your hand and clean it with your hands, rinse it, and either let it drip dry or use a hair dryer to dry it.

Shirt tails are fine, but microfiber underpants are better, so I am told

Couldn't agree more....this is my thinking as well.

Look at guys motorcycles that are always wiping them down with dirty rags all the time....tons of scratches.
Never dry wipe anything if at all possible.
Each to their own though.
If you buy me a Rolex and want me to buff it every hour with a microfiber towel....well I'd oblige you.
But seems how that isn't likely to happen, and i'm paying for my own watches, I'll stick to my cleaning regime : )

used to, but not anymore.

i use a moist lens cleaner once every week or so but spit and a tissue works well too.

I used to once a week, but now I am aiming for wiping my watch every morning. But I shower with my sub, so that pretty much cleans it up :)
It's a toolwatch afterall.

I wash mine in the morning and then blot them with a micro cloth before I head out the door. If I happen to be in a washroom that has one of those blow dryers for your hands I will rinse off the wash while I wash my hands and then blow the water off at the same time as I dry my hands. Dust contains so many particles that can scratch that wiping the watch dry is just not a good thing to do. I know scratches are inevitable, I just don't want to add to the process unnecessarily.

I let it get a little dirty so when I do wipe it, I'm impressed...

I lose count. I keep an eyeglass cloth in my desk at work and night stand at home plus a jewelers cloth when I put it away.

When I put it on in the morning, I wipe it clean with the damp towel I just used after I showered. Throughout the day, I'll wipe it with a little microfiber cloth if I see fingerprints. Yeah, the PCLs on my TT GMTc show fine scratches if I look really closely but from a foot or two away it looks great.
