Hi,

First post on the forum. I took possession of my first Rolex today, a 116610LN.
I went the AD route after reading up on the various options, feeling it was a better fit for my situation.
As a UK resident I was pleasantly surprised at the relatively short time I had to wait on the list. The whole AD experience was a real treat, very helpful and professional.
This is meant as my 'one and only' watch but going by the various stories on the forum it might be the beginning of something else entirely.

Congrats!

Why is it difficult to get some Rolex stainless sports watches in the U.K.? I've seen that mentioned on the forum frequently.

Appears to be a pure marketing decision by Rolex. The AD claims they're only seeing one or two SS Subs per month, similar numbers on SS Daytona. I could have had my pick of TT or PM watches, including Subs or Daytona but had to go on the waiting list for the model I wanted.
One salesman quoted me a timescale of 6 - 8 months for my 116610LN whereas another branch of the same jewellers came up with it in about 4 weeks. Not too bad, I suppose, considering the limited supply in UK at present.
