SubC - Black or green

Hello, I am in a situation where I can sell my Sub Date for a reasonable price (9200 AU) and purchase a hulk.

What are your thoughts on the black vs. green sub?

Would i regret selling the classic?

If people who have owned both could chime in that would be great :)

Kind regards, Steve.

Green will be more rare but if you don't absolutely love the green, it will grow old quickly.

The SubC date is the all time classic and an icon. Needs no introduction and according to Wikipedia, it is the most copied watch. Green, is a luxury. I am very fortunate to have both and more. I love them all.

I would go with black. More versatile imo.

I have the green and in all honesty as much as I love the watch, it's definitely my least worn. But I like to match things so it doesn't go well with my attire. But on the other hand that wouldn't bother a lot of people. The dial is mesmerising.

I would keep the black, but then I'm not generally a fan of green.

If you have a black dial Rolex, in your arsenal, then Go Green. If not, then you have to get the Black...

Don't ask me how I know...

That is tough choice. I would say both are great. BLNR and LV are a great combo also.

I wear my LVC more than any other watch. It is not overstated at work, but it is not boring to look at (love me that sunburst effect on the dial).

The real question is . If you were to have a collection of say 3 rolex , what would they be . If you bought the hulk what would come next . Will the hulk fit or the sub c The hulk is an amazing looking watch .

The green looks very dark, sometimes even black, indoors. The black one will always look black. So if you like green and like the fact that it changes colour all the time... the LV it is.

Actually the black ceramic bezel plays in the light too, often looking grey or even metallic. The dial is perpetually the darkest black you'll find. However, I agree that it would be a more stagnant option to the LV.

I bought the Hulk first now I want the black no date. If I already had the black Sub I probably wouldnt sell it to get the green, I would just save for the green to add it to the collection. With all that being said if I could only have one it would be the Hulk.
