Interesting Rolex Display Watches in Israel?

I saw this in the lobby of my hotel in Israel this morning and thought the BLNR looked a little unusual (hand stack was particularly interesting upon closer investigation).

Does Rolex make special display models of their watches? I feel like that might be a bit interesting...but Euro Asia appears to be a major AD...part of me wonders if a hotel employee pulled a quick one....

Loads of things are wrong with that, you definitely shouldn't be able to see the LEC that easily, also the rehaut looks too deep/wrong angle, also the GMT Master text is in green?

It's very dirty to start with. There's a fabric piece stuck between the case and the endlink at 6'; I wouldn't buy this specific watch.
It's funny how clear the LEC is in your pictures. It's almost too clear...

Bizarre. If you're still there go ask them why they have a fake watch on display.

I know EuroAsia and they are indeed a huge and well-respected distributer. Strange looking, but glass sometimes can play with things.

They might be concerned about theft, but it seems like a good way to lose their AD status.

batman bezel is hillarious.... i know of a grey dealer here in KL that puts fakes on display but clearly puts a sign in the cabinet that they are for show and not for sale..... but a AD having counterfeit watches on display is disgraceful

Unbelievable. Rolex would almost certainly remove their AD status for this stunt. Cannot believe they would even consider displaying these things.

This BLNR has a 7 digit Z serial number. I believe the serial reads Z754008, which is a known replica number.

from what I know - The sole official Israel importer of rolex/tudor/tissot (and a few other brands) have only one of their showrooms that is located in a hotel lobby, and its in the Isrotel royal gardens hotel shopping boulevard (in eilat) on the ground floor of that hotel.

Have been there a couple of times, excellent service and all the watches that I saw there were the real deal.

I didn't have a chance to visit their boutique...but I visited another AD while in Jerusalem and saw that prices were higher than in the US anyway. (In TLV, I stayed in the Isrotel Royal Beach where this was taken--quite a nice hotel). All that said, I have no doubt that the watches at the Euro Asia boutique are real given the dealer's long-running AD status.

Nevertheless, I guess this thread confirms that the watch is fake and that displaying fakes is not common practice. Which leads to the question...what exactly happened here. Was it a working capital issue? (Kind of pricey to tie up ~$20k in an ad.) Was it a theft concern? Did a hotel employee pull a quick one? And now I wonder how many other hotels have fakes sitting around in their lobby display cabinets. I've never paid much attention and this one almost got by...but there are no good BLNR fakes out there at this point....(I couldn't have confidently identified the sub next to it as fake...though the SEL fitment is questionable on that as well)
