What size Rolex suits me best: 36, 40, or 42mm? (pics)

Currently I have a 36mm Datejust, but admit I have had a wandering eye lately...

I'm looking at the 40MM Day-Date and the recently-announced SS/YG Skydweller models.

I went to the Rolex boutique to try on the DD and the YG Skydweller (for size).

What do you think looks best on me?

40mm is the sweetspot.

Frankly wrist shots like these always make the watch look larger than it does in person. From my pov all look like they'd be good on you. Personally I like the picture of the 36mm the best. If it were me I'd get the watch that sings to me the loudest. BTW, what is your wrist size?

Not sure of my wrist size.

I also tried on the WG 40MM day date and the sales person agreed that looked too big on me.

Perhaps it a combo of watch size and color of the watch too.

Exactly right. Looking at the color combinations I would say the picture with the datejust and daydate looks best, nevermind which size they are.

why would an AD salesperson talk you OUT of a DD 40?
Sounds nuts

40 is good. But you could also do 36 no problem. In regards to size, I would give each equal consideration when shopping. If you see a piece in 36 you love, but are concerned about the size, don't be concerned.

I really think they all look quite good, they're beautiful watches. A lot of size selection has to do with personal preference, don't be afraid to follow your instincts.

I think 40 is the sweet spot, and for resale or trade in the future has the best chance of fitting the majority of humans whether the huge watch trend remains or reverts to a more moderate size.

I voted 40 without reading. This size is perfect for almost everyone.

40 probably looks best. 36 doesn't look totally out of place either, and for that matter neither does the 42, but 40 with that case seems just right.

Looks-wise, either the 40 or 42mm will work.

Now if you're going for a sportier look (and of course require the GMT capability), the SKD. And if you're after a more conservative, dressy look, the DD.
