Who's wearing what watch at what age, what was your first Rolex purchase?
As I'm in the process of making my first Rolex purchase and educating on the different models, I figured it would be kind of cool to see what others are wearing at what age and at what age they made their first purchase.
For example, I'm 28, I'll be picking up an 116610 sub, it will be my first. So who's wearing what at what age. Go ahead and share, what was your first Rolex purchase? Has your style changed or evolved with age? |

In 1983 I was 28 and I bought an explorer 1016. Wore this nearly everyday till I bought a 16264 TOG in Feb 2017. The explorer is going to be worn now for special occasions, after it has been serviced.

First one was 2004, I was 51 at the time. It was a 34mm TT OP. That was my only watch till 2012 when I bought a new GMT2. In March of 2015 I bought a TT Bluesy and joined the TRF.
After that, it's all a blur. See below for current lineup.

I'm 68 and I have four Rolex watches, the first of which I acquired at age 59.
The first was 114270 and the most recent was a 116710BLNR. I have a bunch of other watches, too.

Turned 36 this week. First Rolex was purchased at 20 in college. Since then it has been a dozen Rolexes, few Panerai, some IWCs, omegas, etc. and for the last 5 years has been 10 APs. After the last 16 years of collecting I find myself slowing down the flipping for long term collecting.

I was about 28 when I scored a cool and rare AirKing date. Two tone on Jubilee.
The AK date was on available in commonwealth countries - I'm in Toronto Canada. Although previously owned it was a killer deal for a grand. When I "traded up" I got $1500.00 towards the purchase of a slightly used Datejust. (Steel and gold) since the Datejust was selling for $2100.00, I only had to drop $600.00 for a like new DJ. Mind you, that was back in around '92. Mark Sent from my SGH-I547C using Tapatalk |

Bought my first, a datejust, at the age of 25. Sold it within a year.
Bought my second, my current GMT Coke, at 25. Still have it today at 27, and wear it every day.

My first Rolex was a Rolex TT Turn-O-Graph and I got it when I was 36. Still one of my favorite watches though it doesn't get a lot of wrist time.

That's a very nice DJII. Makes me think about going with the 41mm over the 36. I always enjoy seeing wrist shots as you can't really see the true look of the watch in marketing photos.
