Datejust 41. New watch or just a new name?

So I notice on the Rolex site that the two tone Datejust 2 with rhodium dial and green romans is now the Datejust 41.
Is it possible that the case and oyster bracelet are the same but now with the new designation it is simply the same watch with a Jubilee bracelet option and some new dials that look more proportionate to the 36mm?
Thoughts?

Link? Cause I can't configure that combo on the site!

Granted not all configurations are available yet but soon we'll have more options...

Here's the one that had to go!

Surprised that this dial has reappeared I would have thought it would be discontinued along with the TT DJ11, stick is not in keeping with the thinner

Whether or not you consider the aesthetics enough of a change to call this a new watch, there is no doubt that with a completely new movement (3235) it definitely is.

As for the dial options, I too was anxious at first because the combination of dial color/bracelet/bezel is not on the website. My AD (whom I trust) told me they checked with the Rolex rep and what I desire WILL be available. Also, if I am not mistaken when the DJII first came out and also the DJ41 TT, it was several weeks after Basel before ALL the options showed up on the website. So, I am very excited and if you are looking for a specific configuration, I would give it a little time and I'll bet all the options that were available on the DJII will show up.

Agreed! I also remember a few weeks after Basel when all the dial options became available. Can you share with us which combo you want that your AD confirmed? I'm hoping it's this one - as it may very well be the most versatile watch combo to dress up or down and go with all colors due to its neutral rhodium dial. This is what I want!

Thats a beautiful watch ihaw but not exactly what I was looking for. My choice is white face/Oyster bracelett/Fluted bezel. I... am excited!!!!! But I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you, that combo is gorgeous and like we agree; all options will probably take several weeks to show up. Do you buy from an AD? You could ask them to contact their Rolex Rep as mine did. Or I would be glad to put you in contact with mine and hope you buy it from them

Oh I most definitely do get it from my AD. Canadian prices are way cheaper than US if you consider exchange rates.

Great watch! I would like the fluted bezel - rhodium dial either with oyster or jubilee bracelet. Paul are you getting this?

I think that the jubilee would look really sharp as well

It's definitely a new watch...fantastic new movement and a redesign of bezel and dial toward more the classic good looks of this beauty. The jubilee with the easy link is a nice touch, too. Very comfy with the benefit of room to grow on those warm days.

I'm liking that smooth bezel/jubilee combo more and more.

I hear the DJ41 is a Rolex round off, it actually is a 40mm.
Main improvement is the new 3235 and available in ss.

Yeah it actually measures 39.25 mm (we had a member measure them side by side.) I wonder how accurate it was but I'm sure it was at least close to what the calipers said
