Phantom Rolex Watch Syndrome...
This weekend I noticed that I suffered from Phantom Rolex Watch Syndrome. I was wearing a non-Rolex watch only because I was doing some serious rough housing with the kids. I found myself handling it the same as I would as if I was wearing my Rolex. On a consious level I thought I wore all my watches the same way, without regard to bumps, scratches, etc. I don't! I noticed that I guarded my wrist the same way when holding hands with Miss Jody so her watch wouldn't scratch mine. Also, I was careful when using my mouse so I wouldn't scratch my bracelet on the desk, etc (it was a plastic band). I don't know when this happened to me since all my non-Rolex watches show significant battle scars of life. Go figure. I guess in the long run all my watches are the better for my "extended care mode" when wearing any watch now. I do wear my Rolex almost 98% of the time and for most activities. I would like to say that I simply respect it and treat it with the dignity it deserves. How about you?
