Rolex giveaway

How many Rolex watches have you given away.

I have given away 6 and up to now I have 1 more to go . (Unless there are more grand children arriving in the future)

I bought my wife one TT DJ
My son a DJ
My daughter in law TTDJ
My daughter a George Jenson so it doesn't count
My son in law DJ
My grand son a Sub
My eldest grand daughter a TT DJ
Next will be another TT DJ for the youngest grand daughter

The last three are birth year watches.

I'm a better giver than receiver.

Can I be a relative of yours? You are very generous!

Truth is, I have not given one away yet. Currently saving for a TT DJ for the wife as a one year anniversary present.

One, I gave my Dad a 116610. One of the best days of my life. He was so happy and proud. He never takes it off.

If anyone feels compelled to compete with the OP, I'll happily provide my address!

Seriously though, that's pretty cool and those are very thoughtful gifts.

I wouldn't call my wife's a giveaway..... or maybe I can say that she gave me one? For our 10 year anniversary:

I'd love to give one to my dad but my mom made it clear he doesn't care about such things and prefers a Raymond Weil he got as a gift many years ago. Maybe someday....

This is not the thread I thought it would be.

The subject of this thread generated excitement followed by disappointment.

It does happen from time to time. You wouldn't be able to see it though.

I gave my father a brand new TT Datejust 41 a few months ago for a retirement gift, he's been self employed his whole life, I purchased the business from him and wanted to give him his "gold watch" as no one else would.

Amazingly, he was quite upset and absolutely refused the gift. He couldn't believe I spent the money on him. The man is old school, started out selling Electrolux vacuums door to door and built a respected Financial services company.

So, I was stuck with a watch I had no interest in, fortunately the AD worked with me. All was not lost as the "thought" and "intent" was transmitted, he knew it was a massive sign of respect and appreciation, that was not lost.

I bought him a steak and got him drunk instead, lol.

Your inventory looks pretty well stocked up of what we can see there. Nice Daytonas!

When I can afford it, I've got a list of people I want to gift Rolex watches to:

1. My mom
2. My girlfriend(maybe at wife status?)
3. My brother

The rest will be determined by life, love, and lines of credit.

Two - both to my wife. I bought her a 26 mm OP and I gave her my Air King that i still wear sometimes. I gave it to her after she confiscated it and wore it for over a month without taking off.

Good post, here's my list:

-Wife has two Datejusts, a 26 mm and 31 mm both TT
-Mom was originally given my old blue TOG which I took back a few years later when my sister and I got her a new 36 mm TT Datejust
-Dad was then given my old blue TOG which he tried for a few months but ended up giving back to me. He was honest with me that he really didn't have any interest in wearing one. Eventually moved the TOG to help fund my 116619.
-Sister has my old 16610LV.

I'd also like to get each of my kids their own watch upon college graduation.
