Bracelet removal on SD

Just had to ask is it really hard to remove the bracelet pins from the watch. I had a hell of a time. Maybe i was doing it backwards, if anyone has a trick i would love to know.

Can I assume your model does not have the lug holes? If not, you need the Bergeon (sp.) tool to perform the task. I haven't done it myself on my 16600, but I understand that is how it is done. I'm sure someone here can explain it better and include photographs.

The T etched between the lugs denotes a non-lug holes case. You need to make sure that you put a bracelet that has the endlinks cut-out for a spring bar tool..

For example: If you have a GMT 16710 T, and you want to put on a Jubilee bracelet, you need endlinks 502T, because the basic 502 endlinks do not have the cut-outs, etc.

I did a lot research on the web ... visited different websites on bracelet removal tool ... finally bought one from ebay ... I bought the wrong tool!!!

I use the tiny screwdriver bought from Radioshack and moved the pin out from one side, gently pull on the bracelet to the opposite side and then move the other end out.
It is even more difficult to put it back in.
Make sure you tape the lugs to lessen the chance of scratching.
If you release one end of the bracelet from the clasp will make the bracelet come off more easily.

I found it really easy to remove.
Put the watch face down on a cloth, exposing the pins.
Using toothpics or drawing pins, one in each hand, push the spring bars inwards (so your hands are pushing towards each other)
The bracelet will just drop down.

Still haven't figured out how to put it back yet though

Thanks Larry for the info on the "T" designation. Thanks for all for the good suggestions.

Got a new black NATO strap on the SD and it look great, should save the metal bracelet from all the desk diving i do.
