Daytona rotor
I bought a brand new 2017 TT Daytona just wanted to make sure if it's normal to hear the rotor move when you have the watch closer to your ear? Maybe a silly question but just wanted some clarification on if it is normal. Thanks again

It means there's nothing wrong with your hearing.

All ball bearing rotors in all watches can be heard more than the shaft and sleeve rotors on say the cal 3135.Simple answer stop listening to the rotor by your ear and just put the watch on your wrist where it belongs.

Never buy yourself a Patek Aquanaut, my one of those you could hear clearly, driving the car and turning the steering wheel was playing a pin ball machine.....

Brian, it is a unique mechanical sound, but certainly in the Aquanaut it is indeed a loud movement.

As Padi says,
Modern Daytona movement is noisy relevant to a sub for example. The ball bearings have a bit of a rattle but are said to provide better longevity. Quote:
I found it odd that my 5711 was comparably unnoticeable compared to the roar of the aqua

Yes, all good. You can hear the Daytona 4130 rotor on occasion unlike the other movements.

Yes you can hear it unlike the other "non-chrono" Rolex movements.
I questioned it too when I picked up my 116500 last year. |
