Tumi luggage at Costco. Looks like a carry on and I need one very badly
Is it good quality ? We all know about warranty from Costco but I don't know about TUMI so much. My carry on has been beaten to death and was about to by a set from Costco to include carry on and a bigger one for being checked for longer trips.
But saw this and now I'm curious. I added pics below Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Since you asked ...
I have the Ducati model carry on from Tumi, T3 I believe, quality sub par. (retractable handle seems to live its own life, never worked as it should) Own a Tumi wallet (torn at the fold), back pack (ballistic nylon very sloppy fit) and a messenger bag (poor shoulder band connections which are going to fail soon) as well from the brand. Therefore overpriced imho. But will definitely buy this brand again, simply love their designs and that is what the brand is all about. Made in China which normally does not help in terms of quality. Sensible thing is to check out Victorinox/ Samsonite for better price quality ratio and lighter weight or Rimowa for a more fashionable piece. Ultimate would be the LV carry ons, but these prices I am not willing to pay.

I have a Tumi alpha 2 (I think that's the right model). Have had it for a few years and it's great. Don't know what model you're talking about, but my experience with Tumi has been a positive one

Mark,
I have the Tegra lit carry on and use it for business trips mostly. It stays on the plane overhead bins but it is large enough for my business needs. I will say that the finish on the outside can get scuffed a little from travel but overall I like it. It can expand too which is nice if you need to check in the bag. I did that once with the family on vacation. How much is it at Costco? Take care, Phil |

This is 5 years old and used every week. All week. In and out of car and hotel most weeks. Fly about 6 times a year and generally carry on. Not one broken zipper or pull. Everything works as it should.
Wife got it on a flash sale somewhere and it is worth every penny. I am sure it isn't as good as the old stuff but the weight savings is worth it. Best $250 I ever spent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We bought a Tumi carry on where you can pick your accent colors so you can pick yours out of a crowd of black suitcases. We buy our Tumi from the same store that Paul does, so we are special. Yea!

Interestingly, I saw that one in addition to the Kirkland Signature branded carry-on for $99.00. Trying to decide between the one you pegged and the rather plain (B&R style) house brand.
I am seriously considering giving the Kirkland Signature one a test drive instead of the TUMI based solely upon Costco reputation for simply giving members a new carryon no questions asked if anything ever breaks.

Tumi luggage at Costco. Looks like a carry on and I need one very badly
Tumi Tegra-lite is garbage.
I had 2 pieces that couldn't handle two trips. They were permanently dented and one had a crease from the weight of the luggage stacked on top of it. Tumi replaced both and the same thing happened so I returned them and bought the alpha 2 counterparts |

I've had a Tumi Alpha 2 for ~4 years and can't imagine a better bag for domestic travel. I'm on a plane 2x monthly for work/personal and the Alpha 2 has performed perfectly and held up better than expected. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. Not sure about the Tegra / Tegra-lite lines though...

I loved their Alpha 2 line for years and never had any issues with them, now I own mostly the CFX (Carbon Fiber). Have had no issues either. I have no experience with the Tegra line, good or bad, but.. well Mark, looking at both in the store I think I would sway towards the Alpha 2 to be honest. If you are on a budget you can probably find one for a deal on line or maybe check the Tumi outlet stores, they have great prices!

Before making such a hefty and important investment I would explore other options and really take my time doing so.
God forbid you purchase the wrong carry on. |

380.00 for a great quality carry on is ok with me. Throw in the life time warranty or bring it back anytime if it's not useful enough or breaks is icing on the cake for me.
