SD43 too big!! No!

Arrived today. After owning 20+ Rolex and always flipping, this might stay. Subs were always too small, DSSD out of proportion with the bracelet and too top heavy. Closest was a Polar Explorer 42 that I put a GlideLock on but I wasn't keen on the aesthetics. This seems to hit the sweet spot if you have bigger wrists.

I'm pretty sure you could wear a 5lbs weight plate and it wouldn't look too big.

Congratulations.

Holy hell. I initially thought that was a 36mm Tudor Sub on you. Massive wrists

Wrists not that big. I'm 6'4" 215lbs 7.75 wrist. 43mm is a larger watch but in today's world not huge. if you're on the fence, I would give it a try, it's all relative, I know this will feel small if I wear my 372 for a few days.

Thanks for posting that photo. 7.5" wrist here and this pic gives me a good idea how it will look - which is great! Contrats

Thanks for the feedback.
After a day of wearing I would describe it as a 70/30 cross between a Sub and DSSD. The proportions are excellent, the new bracelet width makes it look like it was made for the watch not borrowed from another model. Comfort wise, great, not as good as a Sub, if a Sub is a 10, the SD43 is an 8.5, slightly top heavy but hardly noticeable. Cyclops I know divides opinion but Rolex have always been an innovative company, they may do things slowly but they do push technological boundaries, as we all know the only reason for no cyclops on the original was because it couldn't be done. I'm glad Rolex stepped up with this model and created a truly new SD, I understand the purists' viewpoint but sometimes things need to change, not update. Anyway, it's great to be back, I've not had a Rolex for a year after 20 years of always having one or two, there's just something about them.............

Wow, that looks great! I'm in the same boat, although my wrist is only a 7.25. The Submariner looks good on me, but not substantial. And I guess that's what I'm looking for. I have one on order. I will compare it to my 114060 and go from there. Congrats
