Variations between various 15202 series?

Hi there.

I'm potentially interested in buying an 15202 (2012) and heard that the latest J serial versions have a much brighter dial compared to the older ones, is there anywhere I can read in detail about these minor changes between the different serials?

I think it's opposite. The first versions of the 40th 15202 were brighter, and then got toned down. I prefer the brighter version.

Guys I don't mean to hijack thread but can someone tell me when I series ended and J series started? J series is most recent ?

i have a j series diver purchased in April 2016 (number is less than 600)... so i would guess early 2016 is about right for the start date as it was probably made a month or two before purchase I'm guessing, and I series would have ended about then too.

i have a RG 44mm ROO J series numbered in the 35,000's purchased at the beginning of april 2017 so its the most current letter in the series, as the cutoff for switching numbers is at least above 65,000 as my I series 15400 is in that range. The 44mm is the SIHH 2017 version so it was obviously very recently made. Those numbers also roughly puts production at 34-35k over a 12-14-ish month period as well, right on what most estimates are

My 15400 is an I Series 8X,XXX. So I'm pretty sure it extends past 65,000.

May ask how these AP serials work?

I assume the "case" No. Xxxxx is the number of RO or etc made? The "Letter" XXXXX is how many AP watches made in that series? And the movement numberapprox the number of movements/cal made (or maybe that's just a random number)?

Not sure if this has been posted but the J series movements don't have balance cock adornment (the few I've seen). Also the clasp has 4 screws in the locking mechanism instead of 2.
