Is White gold 116719 just too soft to use regularly?

Does this watch make sense with the white gold being softer or is it better for me to go with the "Batman" in stainless steel?

It really depends on how you will wear the watch. If your hard on them, steel may be preferable if marks annoy you. But you can beat the gold ones up too, all Rolexes are meant to be worn and take active wear.

I don't. Wear my WG Sub the same as my SS YM with PCL. No difference in how they look. Whatever material around the house or job that scratches gold will also scratch steel.
The 18K Gold used is also annealed and is pretty hard.

The PCL's on the BLNR will show visible marks of use i.e. swirls, hairline scratches, just as quick as the BLRO. Within a day

Gold watches/time pieces have been worn daily for centuries.. "Softer" is a relative term, it's not like it's made of butter..

Have you seen how gold pocket watches have fared for the last century? If you need a real tool watch, then get steel otherwise gold will handle most everyday tasks.

I wore my WG daytona every day, but I am not annoyed by scratches. WG does not seem much softer than Platinum or SS to me, all scratch.

If scratches bother you, you may not want to wear a watch.

I have an Explorer II that I wear almost everyday for the past 15 years and it has no scratches on it so maybe WG will be fine for me....

If this, then I would say go for it. I for lack of a better term, abuse my daily watch. I own pizzerias and work in them daily, you would be surprised how bad that environment is on my watch. I all but destroyed my TT sub when I had it, but that is me. At this point in my life, when I get my next gold piece it will be "dress up and going out" only.
