purchasing question

Hi,
This is officially my first post. I have my eye on a used 16610 y series sub date.
it seems like a good price, it's on canwatchco forums. I have a few concerns that I was hoping on getting some advice. The seller seems legit with a few references, but the watch is an older model purchased in Kowloon. so 2 things, how do I check it's authenticity? Is there a dealer that will authenticate on site somewhere? (do they charge for this type of thing?).
and what is the best way to do a F2F meeting?
Do I look at the watch first and make sure I love it then arrange to meet again with the cash? or do I bring the cash with me and if it's the watch I want, then just make the deal?
is it better to get a bank draft prior to meeting and finish the transaction in a bank with the seller cashing the bank draft?
I appreciate any advice.
thanks.

I would meet in a very public place like a bank. I've done some watch transactions in the lobby of mine or the seller and it seems safer with big dollars. If you want it authenticated you can meet at a watch dealer. I wouldn't meet at a random place to buy a Rolex.

100% agree, I meet the seller in a Bank, so I can check the money !

Yes... there are appraisers everywhere. Costs a little, but then you have it for insurance and know it's the real deal.

Doing a 16610 right is worth all the effort.
Avoid shortcuts.
Measure twice, cut once.
