BLNR availability in UK

Has the hype cooled on BLNR in uk or is it still proving hard to find. Seeing them at grey dealer around £7500 at moment which isn't as bad as the Daytona or deep blue. Can it be sourced retail now?

I was lucky to find one in the window of my AD on the Saturday, it was mine the following week after putting a deposit down the monday, this was about 5-6 weeks ago.

Generally no, not without being on waitlist. They randomly spring up from time to time at Heathrow, but other than that they are not out on display and available to buy except in the most very rare of circumstances. So i wouldn't bet on it.

you also need to already be a current customer to get on a waitlist in the first place (at many AD's).

Agreed, still not easy to get and it's a case of dropping lucky and lots of groundwork needed.

Getting on list in selfridges can get the watch quite quick.

As most on their list are abroad or just speculating.

I got offered a hulk last week which is equally as rare these days

The ADs I know well say they have significant lists and don't get many.
When one comes in, it has no problem finding a home.

However dig in and don't pay over list, the feeling will be worth it when you find one.

It's still tough to find and then you have to convince the AD to sell the watch to you as they have lots of preconditions now, like you're after a Patek application piece, which is doubly annoying when most ADs refer to the watches as Batman and Hulk and for sure don't know the refs.

i wouldn't count that as "availability"... Burlington Arcade almost always has every BNIB model you could possibly want too, if you want to pay market prices instead of retail. A couple of weeks ago they had a Sub LV, Both SS Daytona C's, BLNR, ND Sub, and a DSSD D-blue.

I don't know whether it's my relationship with AD but I asked 3 weeks ago and it was mine in about a day.

that helps for sure. The BLNR is probably one of the easiest of the scarce SS stock to acquire compared to many of the others it seems. So there is more hope on that one.

If Karl purchased in Kuwait, that would have probably helped as well.

What AD's have your name on their waiting list ? Got my BLNR in 3 months from the Crown Boutique. Would have had it in 2 months if I had answered their call. Saw the missed phone number and called them back about 30 minutes later but they had already gone to the next person on their list !!!. Turned out OK in the end, they made sure the next months delivery was mine. It would appear they get the one BLNR per month. Had a good experience picking it up and would recommend them. I wasn't an existing customer of theirs and they did tell me they just go by the order they take the names.....as it should be with no preference to VIP's or big spending customers.
Forget The Hour Glass...they pretty much laughed at me over the phone when I enquired about the BLNR after telling them I had not bought anything from them previously.
Watches of Switzerland also a very difficult process, very reluctant to even take your name down.
See how you go with Crown, you do have to go into their store to put your name down. Another bonus is you essentially get a 5% discount if you join the Crown Rewards program (which is free) by recouping the reward points you get with the purchase.
Good luck....and by the way I am in love with my BLNR !! In the end the hunt makes it even more rewarding once it is on your wrist.
