Anyone own a Porsche Cayenne Diesel?

I have received the settlement letter from Volkswagen that needs to be notarized. It lists the amount it will pay and if I sign and send in the letter, it looks like I am waiving all sorts of rights that I do not understand. In addition it states that I am aware of my options. I am not aware of my options.
I tried to call the lawyers appointed by the court to represent owners, but they never answer the phone and do not return calls (as of yet).

Anyone else figured out what to do?

Scan and post it here. Redact personal details. We've got like 2000 lawyer members.

Unfortunately, the letter refers to options in the VW Court Settlement and other "actions" that would take up way too much space .

Had a friend that had his TDI GOlf bought back on the same deal. I don't recall every single detail but in the end they told him what they would pay, in writing, and he took it. The waiving of right is the right to sue them for additional damages etc if I recall correctly. He took it to a lawyer buddy of ours to look at.

Do they have a fix for the Cayenne?

No fix as of yet. They are working on it.

I checked the Porsche section on FChat and there is no mention of it there. Thought I would start here.

Join a Porsche forum and start a thread -- many with same questions.

I've had many Touareg Diesels and run a VW dealership. Send me a PM and I am happy to fill you in.

These last two posts are why I start here rather than other forums. There always seems to be people willing and able to help and it happens fast.
This is a great website.

OP, I'm part of the class action settlement group (have a PassatTDI).

I received my settlement endorsement last week and my appointment to return the vehicle is July17th. I opted to take the buyback, as I am not confident the "fix" will not affect fuel mileage or performance. In addition the buyback provided for more than fair vale for the car IMO. I drove it 3.5 years and I'm getting back just under 29k.

I decided to go hybrid and bought a BMW330E

Good luck in your decision but IMO I wouldn't want the "repair" option.

Which model Passat did you have that it was still worth 29k after 3.5 years?

Passat TDI high line. That's Canadaian dollars and includes the $5500 of punitive damages as awarded by the courts here in Ontario

Hey Brian does the 330e qualify you to drive alone in the HOV on the QEW? Just curious.

I'm not sure it does Tom

Luckily I don't have to take the QEW to get to Raffi

I had a 2013 Passat TDI that I sold back to VW a couple months back. I think I ended up getting around $3k less for it than I paid for it new. Couldn't pass it up at that price. I also replaced it with a BMW 3 series. Overall I'm happy with the outcome.

Nicely done Ben

Pitty that they haven't figured out a replacement for the TDI, as they had a very loyal following and the cars were incredible on fuel mileage (pollution aside).
