Prefer Warranty Card With Dial Info?
I know the US Warranty cards come with the dial color listed on them and all others don't, but I was wondering if with certain watch models like SS daytona if I should put a small preference on one that list dial color on warranty card. The white dial seems to command a premium vs the Black face on the 116500 but warranty cards from non US AD's will only say 116500LN for both models so really no way to know if someone changed the dial at some point. I know this wouldn't make much sense to do now and I get that the card doesn't mean a whole lot once the warranty is expired other than sentimental value and complete set premium but I was just wondering if given the chance to buy and all things being equal except the card stating dial color would you lean towards the one that has the dial color listed.
I'm also sure this has been discussed before but couldn't find it with the keywords so sorry in advance if this has been answered numerous times before.

It's an interesting question, similar to the bezel insert color on the GMT. Here in the States the AD paperwork might include a designation of original color, while outside the U.S. the paperwork often would contain more generic information.
Does it matter? As long as the paperwork isn't inconsistent with current dial/bezel color then it wouldn't make any difference to me. Certainly not worth a premium. |

I have been on this forum for about a decade and I have never heard this question before. Honestly, I could care less what is on the card and would not give any value to it.

I suppose it couldn't hurt but, today all ref numbers correlate to dials for the most part.

This came to mind when I viewed a post about if there was any way to tell if a kermit was real, and basically the short answer was not without paperwork as people can make the changes to a standard one as the model numbers were the same. This is also true of the 116500LN Ceramic Daytona. It was more of a hypothetical question of say 10-15 years from now if the white face still demands a premium over the black if it would become impossible to prove that it came with the white face unless you specifically had the US warranty card for confirmation
