Alright gents, couldn't find a thread on this, so here it goes:

My current lighter is/was a Xikar Allume Double Flame, but it broke down on me after less than a year of use. Xikar has a lifetime warranty, but I'd have to ship overseas, it will take god knows how long to get fixed and sent back, and it was only 35 bucks after all, so perhaps not worth all the trouble. This is the model:

Anyway, I need to get a new one, and I'm curious to hear the thoughts of my fellow TRF cigar lovers: which is your favorite brand/model?

For ultimate flavor and experience I'd go the good old match box

But if you insist, the Dupont mini jets lasts for ever. I've had mine for more then 10 years now and still works flawlessly

I have never had any luck with Xikar lighters.
Great cutters, crappy lighters.
I have gone through very many lighters in my years.
Many quite expensive.
In the end, nothing beats my Vertigo four flame torch.
Under $40 on Amazon.

I have never had any trouble with my Xikar lighters. I did have one that stopped working when I forgot to remove it from the pocket of my swim trunks and went into the ocean.

I walked into a retailer that sold Xikar and had it immediately replaced. No fuss no issues.

I've got all the usual suspects when it comes to lighters. Honestly, my favorite is whatever one is in my hand when I'm lighting up a stogie......

It seems many have had a good track record with Xikar. Perhaps I got the exception. Colibri seems to have some good reviews, and ST Dupont seems great, but that would be expected for the premium they cost.

After losing tons of lighters in casinos ...including a DuPont...I go for the Bic dollar lighter I can get at any service station. Since I dont smoke that many cigars anymore maybe 1-2 a month a bic will last for years if i dont lose it first....prefer the mini bics.

A lighter using lighter fluid is terrible for cigars. The cigar will have the taste of the fluid. Only butane lighters should be used, or wooden matches and cigar sticks.

I've gone through a bunch of lighters over the years, I usually lose them. So, I've resorted to using wooden matches most of the time or ordering cheap ones through amazon I think they're like $12 no worries when I lose them in my golf bag etc.
