On a Pacific Ocean Beach at 3:00AM

Metal Detecting a beach is best done at low tide. Some months, low tide is in the weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hours of the morning. Yesterday, my (metal detecting) club members and I headed out to a local beach to see what we could find. The answer was not much, but I didn't mind; just being there was a beautiful experience.

I think it's a great hobby.

I'd love to get into it a bit.

I wonder what might be found in the desert?

Very cool Paul.

Although I don't have exactly the same hobby, mine does involve early morning wake ups and beautiful sunrises.

I like to sleep late and get up even later. It doesn't seem worth it to go to sleep if you're going to get up at 3:00 AM.

Exactly. My hobby is to never be awake at 3:00am. Although, the metal detecting does sound cool.

Lots of worked-out alluvial gold deposits near where I live. Lots of folks with detectors constantly prospecting them - illegal, I guess - but a bit of fun if you can find some gold.
