Spanish DD
The 118206 is my long-term goal for Rolex. It seems like models with the day indicated in Spanish can be had for much less. Would you ever recommend buying the Spanish version at a discount and ordering a replacement day indicator in English? I don't know how easy it is to do that, but unless it costs more than 10k or so it would seem financially worth it.
Opinions are much appreciated. Photo courtesy of eBay and watch trading co Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't know why a certain language should affect the price that much but if it does then yes I would go down that route. It should be a simple thing to change at service time (which I would do after buying a used watch)

Unfortunately for me, I can't tell what language mine is in anymore, so it might as well be Spanish!

Really? It doesn't make any sense to me that the day wheel would impact the price of the watch to a significant extent. It's a cheap and easy change, after all.

Question: are you sure the watches you're looking at don't just come from less credible sources? Are you seeing any reputable sellers who have sold both and priced comparable watches differently?
Remember, there's nothing to stop a seller from changing the day wheel. If there were thousands more to be made by doing it, you can bet that they would. |

If the numbers make sense and you like the watch, I don't see why not.
Buy the seller first! A dollar paid is a dollar worth! |

I feel that this could be a good deal if you were in a Beastie Boy strong hold (unless you are actually Spanish).

Are you sure that is a Spanish day or a "planet" version?
Martes in Spanish also means Mars.

Not sure why a date wheel would make much difference.
For the right price though, I can learn 7 words in any language.

I know but then the joke wouldn't have worked as well.

I really like that watch. If I owned it I would definitely leave the Spanish week-day plate.

The watch in the picture is (over)polished or not?
