Submariner

I am planning to purchase a used submariner. Is the 16610 a good model or should I look for other models? Thank you

Yes it is a good model.

Why do you think it is not? Do you like it? Why do you want to buy it? What other model would you like?

Was thinking of getting this model or the newer ceramic models. I haven't tried any of the sports models since all i have are the medium and regular stainless And two tone models. Good means the most desirable submariner models to look for. Thanks

Submariner

The Sub is perhaps the most iconic Rolex of all. It has stood the test of time, seeing minor updates throughout its history but remains true to the original design. It's a great watch.

The ceramic bezel model is the newest and commands a higher price. Internally I don't think there are any earth-shattering upgrades. So it comes down to your personal taste and the price you're willing to pay. There is a 16610 in my very near future. I initially fell for the new ceramic models in both the Subs and GMT2s. Now, however, I realize I prefer the classic look over cerachrome. YMMV.

Having had both vintage and modern pieces I personally prefer the modern iteration of the classic Sub. The updated case, bezel insert, and bracelet are all positives in my book. Just depends on what you like and what you wish to spend.

If you are not decided on black, the Hulk is probably the best looking Sub out there.

I have bought 3 rolexes last month and all i wear for daily is the SubC no Date. It is just a non issue watch. Other two i wear with special occasions. TT SubC Date when i am casually dressed and the YG Daytona for weddings etc.

Normally i am dressed with t-shirt and jeans, so the SS SubC No Date is perfect.

I don't think there are any poor Rolex models, there are just particular models an individual will like and some they will dislike.

IMO SubC no date is the cleanest, most versatile daily driver out there

Do you want the Submariner or Submariner Date?

(Submariner, that is the model with out the date.)

Also, do you want the 5-digit (aluminum bezel) tapered lugs case or the 6-series (ceramic bezel, maxi case, glidelock bracelet).

Can't go wrong with any sub reference. Take your time and choose the one you like the most within budget.

Take a look at some of the older models and go try on the SubC and see what sings to you. In the end, what Sub is "most desirable" all depends on the beholder.

The Sub 5 digits is a classic now, the watch proportions are perfect. The movement 3135 is one of the best in the market.
Mine keeps absolute perfect time (+1 sec per month), the green lume remain perfectly visible after many hours in the dark.
It retains good value if you need to sell in the future.
You can't go wrong with such choice

All watches originate from and will return to the Submariner.
