35 years old no watches... Then 2 rolex watches in 5 days
What a few days!!!! Saturday i went to 47th street in manhattan to just look and try on some rolex watches.... I must have tried on 100 watches.... It is obvious to me that the way the economy is if you can afford it now is a great time to purchase a watch. I went to 6 different watch dealers... Everyone of them had stainless daytonas, both used and what they say is unworn. I tried on subs, yachtmasters, presidents, daytonas, gmtiic, deep sea, and also a few pateks. The deep sea is a beautiful watch to look at, but it is very floppy on your wrist.... Wasnt for me.. In my opinion the most comfortable watch on your wrist is a stainless daytona... And it also helps the watch is beautiful to look at as well!!!!!!! So after trying on 10 of them, and driving my girlfriend crazy, i purchased a d-serial white face stainless daytona.... So now i a have a stainless daytona and a 18kt yellow gold m-series daytona which my parents purchased for me for my 35th birthday which was 5 days ago.... I had my parents call up the rolex authorized dealer where they bought the watch and asked them if i could come in and try on a day-date 2 to see how i liked that watch...as long as the watch hasnt been worn i can return it and get the day date 2... But they wont have the day-date 2 for another 10 days... I can wait..... I want to thank everyone on this forum... I joined up in august and read so many reviews and opinions that really helped me!!!!!!!! So as all you guys say i now have a beautiful daily beater which is my stainless white face daytona... And hopefully within 2 weeks i will decide on which weekend watch to keep(18k daytona or day date 2) i just took a picture of stainless daytona with my blackberry( i dont own a camera.... Lol sorry) can someone pm me and tell me how i can get the picture up on here) i would also love opinions on what you guys think... Should i keep the 18k yellow daytona or get the new day-date 2????

Get the DDII You already have a beautiful Daytona now get a
nice watch for when you are dressed up a bit. I like the WG or Plat the most followed by the Rose gold and then the Yellow gold.

Congrats on your double purchase, my friend.
I would keep the SS Daytona and then get the new DD-II in Rose Gold for just that extra bling. Good luck - JJ

18K Daytona, the DD is part of the "out of proportion" line Rolex have introduced, same size dial, with just a wider bezel and case :(

I would get a Sea Dweller and a Submariner as additional pieces in your collection. Don't forget the classic GMT-Master II

i recently tried on the day date ll and felt uncomfortable wearing it. I felt something was off kinda unproportional and bulky :) if you are looking for something with gold and a date how about the new ceramic sub?

Try the 36mm DD, if its not your cuppa-tea stick with the Daytona. Congratulations!

I think you should keep the Daytona especially since your parents got it for you. Later you will regret getting rid of it. The DDII is a also extremely nice. My next purchase will be either the Daytona 18k YG or the DDII YG so I know exactly what you are trying to decide. Take some time to really think it through . Best of luck .

Congrats on your acquisitions. The SS Daytona is a keeper. I DD2 would give you a different looks and quite frankly, I like having multiple options. Good luck on your decision.
