Female Celebs and Daytonas???
Seems like the new phenomenon are female celebs wearing Daytonas. This is very interest as this could unofficially be seen as the only Unisex Rolex model.
I kind of miss the old thread with all the Celebs wearing Rolex thread except lets limit this thread to: 1) Famous Female 2) Wearing Daytona I'll start: |

Good research there! But seriously - why the hell not? If a girl (celeb or not) wants to sport a Daytona and has the cash, go for it. Chances are the only people who will really notice are Rolex owners anyway. I think it looks ok and at least it is a bit more tasteful than a diamond encrusted Breitling. Just as much right as me to wear it anyway. There are much easier ways for them to make a fashion statement. I couldn't care less what Nicky, Tara, Twinky, Inky-winky, or whoever is wearing, as long as they are not actually wearing my own watch! Although that being said it poses an interesting scenario, whereby I have either been mugged by a celeb or I have scored out of my normal league, to which my good wife would certainly have something to say!

These hollywood airheads really dig the exclusivity, traditions and history of the Daytona. Yea right, they'd flip it for a lump of turd if that became fashionable as a wrist watch.

I would actually be quite happy if celebrities stuck to wearing tasteless and ridiculously expensive jewel encrusted watches.
My problem is that they degrade watches with real value and meaning by carelessly wearing them as fashion accessories. Maybe not, because I don't see too many of them wearing VC, PP etc. I'm slowly arriving that conclusion that Rolex is a mass produced watch designed for the upwardly mobile and tasteless nouveau riche. I hasten to add that I'm thrilled to fall into that category. Last edited by Lol-x; 25 October 2008 at 09:02 AM.. Reason: user banned |

That is great, well done. Rolex need to put this in their owners manual "WARNING - real value will be degraded if watch worn as a fashion accessory" That gave me a good laugh. News for you buddy - a Rolex is a fashion accessory, like it or not. Now I have no time for these people either, but I dont have much against them either, in fact I have unfortunately never met any such female celebs. One thing for sure though, is that there are far worse people out there also wearing Rolexes. |

I'm wondering what the fuss is all about. If a woman wants to wear a Daytona or Sub or any supposedly male model, then so be it. After all I don't see women complaining about men wearing diamond-studded Presidents, Daytonas, GMT-Masters or Subs.

You're right Martin ! I wish they would not take photos of rolexes with women's hands; what kind of perversion will they permit next?

Really, I can see some validity with a thread about female celebs wearing Daytonas. It just seems that when such a subject is presented, pictures and comments almost always start to turn lascivous. Why can't we get these darned women to refuse to have their picture taken unless they have all their clothes on? |
