First Lux Watch & Breitling - Superocean II 44 Black!

I just received my new Breitling Superocean II 44 Black just yesterday. This is my first luxury watch purchase after owning Movado, Timex, Uniform Wares in the past.

I did a lot of research and wanted a dive watch. Initially, I purchased a new Tudor Pelagos from a seller here and the watch had a faulty in-house movement. I was really quite disappointed, although I was promptly refunded which eased the pain a bit. After being refunded, I thought, it's time to save for a Rolex Submariner. However, one thing bothered me...my 40mm watches look slightly undersized on my wrist. I continued to save for the Sub. Then I stumbled backwards upon the Superocean II 44 in Black and began to look at images online. There's really not that many great photos out there, not a ton of instragram posts with this one...but I really liked the few that I saw.

I pulled the trigger earlier this week with Alfred (FNFZ4), who was wonderful to deal with and just received the watch yesterday. It looks so good in person, the size, wrist presence, the finish, the dial...everything. I know some might think it's just a Breitling rip-off of the Sub, but the dial on the Superocean dial sets it apart IMO. Some think it's too cluttered, but it works for me. Personally, I'm not a fan of the larger Rolex, Sea Dweller or Deep Sea Dweller...price aside. The Superocean II ticks all the boxes for me. I think next, along with the Rolex Explorer II might be a Superocean Heritage.

I'm really happy with my Breitling!

I agreed with you about this watch ticking many boxes and the size vs a Sub ( I have larger wrist). I opted for the all black version.

Great Watch. I have a Superocean II 42 in Blue. Initially, it came on the bracelet (but the 42 size is completely polished, and was a bit shiny for me) I switched it for a Rubber, Love it to death now, get almost equal wrist time to my LVc.

Your bracelet looks like it's a lot glossier than mine. I'm still looking at rubber straps, I want to pick one up here soon.
