Looking to Buy First Breitling
Looking to buy my first Breitling, model Breitling Chronomat 44 CB011012/A696-375C. Any suggestion as to where I should look to get an honest deal -- AD, Trusted seller, web site...?
Thank you in advance! |

There are several ways to go about purchasing, the most appealing and the most expensive would be to go to a Breitling Boutique and be treated like a king, and then hit with a bill fit for a king. The second place would be an AD where you could attempt to negotiate a discount on the model. The Boutiques won't discount but will throw in an extra strap or two. If you know watch you want, check out Govberg watches in the pre-owned section. A lot of the pre-owned watches look brand new and come with majority of their warranty still in place. All at a discount of 25-50%. I would stay away from grey market dealers such as Jomashop and Authentic Watches only because you will be giving up Breitling's five year warranty. Good Luck!

Keep in mind that any grey market dealer is unable to offer a valid five year warranty on Breitling in house movements. They simply do not have access to parts in order to make repairs. I my self have bought Breitling's from Costco, however they are somewhat limited in their discount and again I would be very suspect of who was going to repair the watch if there was an issue. As a first time buyer I would stay away from grey market dealers just in order to have peace of mind with my purchase. Shop around and you will see how well you can do!

You guys are awesome. That govberg site does have a lot of good stuff there.
But I have not found the one yet. Will check back now and then. It was my first time there. Checking Authentic Watch, Jomashop and Watchmaxx.....price seems to be good, only downside is the OEM warranty. Will update when it is finally purchased. |

FWIW, I bought my first Breitling, a Transocean Chronograph, about a month ago from Authenticwatches.com. It came in perfect condition, runs well within COSC specs and I couldn't be happier with it.

Could not agree more. While I side on variety, OP, Sub, or DJ would be an excellent watch for your collection. Jomashop has often Rolex sales, hunting it down is part of the game and fun. I purchased watches from jomashop, gemnation, authenticwatches, watchmaxx, and few more - no issues so far.

I look for watch liquidators to find hard to find models. Bought a Headwind with gold 1/4 modules... and full kit. Boxes and papers from Feldmars in LA. It was a NOS in fact. Was in the safe and was sold off to a NY liquidator firm. I also got 2 year warranty. A 2005 model, bought 3/2016 and MINT. Was a grail and unexpected. Cost me $2850 and I did have it looked at with Tourneau.
