Independent hour hand
Hi everyone, I'm reaching out for some help. While I find gmt watches useful (I travel for work quite a bit), I don't necessarily like the clutter of extra hands. I'm looking for recommendations for watches with an hour hand that can be set independently. That way, I can quickly update the time as I travel without needing an actual gmt watch. Thanks!

I believe that all of Omega's newer (8500 and newer) three-handers allow quick independent setting of the hour hand without hacking the movement, which is great for travel.
However, that convenience comes at the expense of a quick-set date. You must advance the hour hand 24 hours in order to change the date. |

Ulysse Nardin dual-time watches use an extra "window" to show the second (static) time zone, the hour hand is fully adjustable with a simple button push.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but i highly recommend a Patek 5164. The 2nd time zone can be hidden when you don't want it and the local time adjusted with a simple push of a button.

I did a bit more digging...in addition to the omega 8500 movement I also found out that the panerai 9010 movement has the function as well. I'll keep looking

Yes newer In house panerai. Their gmt hand can also be hidden under the hour hand.

Hi Mike,
Not sure if you'd condem Panerai, but this one allows you to set the hour hand independently |
