I have a Baldwin mantle clock, key wound with three chimes. It belonged to my grandfather on my dad's side and he must have purchased it in the 1970s or earlier. It is fairly accurate if I remember to wind it weekly.

I bought myself a key wound wall clock recently that has a much deeper chime. I have it set to Westminster chimes. The clock is made by Howard Miller and I do keep this one running all the time. I have to remember to wind it once a week and it is pretty accurate. Not as accurate as my Rolex but not bad IMO. Might lose a minute a week.

I love mechanical clocks. Kind of a noob at this though.

Would love to see what others have and what clocks they like and recommend. Pics would be nice. I'll post up some pics tomorrow.

I dont but my father does. He collects limited run Ansonia wall clocks and grandfather clocks. He deliberately sets them seconds apart so that when they chime, they are all a few seconds apart. His whole house plays Westminster Abbey every 15 minutes. His collecting and tinkering is actually what got me interested in mechanical watches.

I've an Atmos mantle clock. Picked it up at an antique store bout 30 years ago.
Also have an old Howard Miller grand father clock.

Yes. Several "Chelsea" brand ships clocks and derivatives (Boston), various sizes, and functionality. Tide etc. Some need to be wound and others quartz. Have a grandfather clock, nothing fancy, Howard Miller type.

I'm still working on a french comtoise clock as a side project. My dad got it from my late grandfather and asked me to service it.
I'm not the one who would buy an antique clock, I do not like most designs.

But in all seriousness I have a cuckoo clock from Germany I believe, in the basement in a box. My grandfather brought it back from WW2 Europe duty.

I have this Ridgeway we inherited. It was transported wrong (on its back) and now needs repairs. As it was my deceased father in laws clock and we have fond memories of my kids winding it was infants we will likely have repaired.

I have two, but only let one sing, as two singing drives me nuts! In the house I have 2 longcase clocks, going, but with their strikes turned off, a ting-tang strike wall clock and two french mantle clocks, one strikes the hours on a bell, the other is just a time piece. In storage, I have many others, they all work, and they do get to see the light of day on rotation, when I remember. I love them, I always stop them when I go on holiday, and the house sounds strangely quiet when we return, and doesn't feel right untill the clocks start ticking away, as I start them at the time I stopped them, and this can be a few hours after return. I always wind them and set the time right in Wednesday, and they are all regulated well and don't need much adjustment.

Not really a collector but we enjoy the two we have. One is a Howard Miller and the other is a cuckoo clock we purchased in Freiburg, Germany. We don't even hear them anymore because we are so used to them but when we have guests, they inevitably want them silenced the second night in our home.

I'm a little biased toward Howard Miller clocks as I work for them in the IS department.

I have a Webster mantel clock and saving towards a grandfather clock. Not sure which model yet.

One, of any significance, a Kienzle Uhrenfabrik mantel clock, c: 1920 from Germany, from what I can find ..
Been in my wife's family for about that long with a long history behind it..

I have posted a lot on my Telechron Electric clock collection, but here is a family treasure, a 1927 Sessions purchased by my grandmother that year. It is not worth anything, as a matter of fact it cost me three times more to have it restored then it is worth, (like $100) but it will stay in my family forever. The radio is a 1930 Grebe, also purchased by that same Grandmother.

I wanted to comment on this.. I was going to start a new thread, but I just switched to a quartz seiko after years of having a manual wound, chiming clock serviced . I will give the clock back to my family and they can keep it for generations. It's ironic I'd never wear a quartz watch.. but have a SEIKO mantel clock. I turned OFF the chimes on my former mantel clock and my seiko CAN chime, but it sounds artificial. I am curious to know how many herein have the same passion for mantel clocks as watches.... It will be nice to have the correct time going-forward on the fireplace. The last person that serviced the manual wound mantel clock told me the clock would never have "perfect" time but the clock continually would migrate to 45 minutes fast and I'd adjust that.. then a few weeks would go by with the correct time, winding it, etc.. then back to 45 minutes slow, and so on. the mantel clock in question is 60 years old and is a "sleigh" clock from Germany. It's gorgeous and I've taken care of it. However, it's time for another younger family member that should care for it.

I have many wound and weighted clocks in my home. It is a cacophony of ticking, coo-cooing, and more! Alas, the clock on my mantle does not work, however. The coo coo clock in the next room makes sure I start the fire on time.

I have an 8-day Imhof on the mantel. I remember my Dad winding it every Sunday. It runs a little slow and needs a service.

Does anyone know a reputable clock repair specialist. Also I have my Grandfathers radio he bought on V-Day which I’d like to get repaired soon before all the old radio repair guys die, if anyone knows a guy :).
