I would buy from AP SC, in UK retailers like Wempe charge a 50% premium.

Pretty sure someone was quoted £500 for the GP strap when it's £300 from the service centre

yes, £298.20 from APSC. I didn't get a quote from an AD, but £500 would not surprise me.

Wow that's insane!

I remember buying my Diver strap from Marcus (when it existed), around the same price I was quoted from the AP NY boutique.

Stop in to the Bal Harbour boutique, near you.
If they don't have what you want - order directly from the Clearwater Service Center

I wonder if Clearwater was impacted by the hurricane - seemed like almost a direct hit.

Besides APSC I would look at AP Bands, Horus(SP?) as well to see what is out there.

So AD Vs APSC

Rubber £300 vs £220
GP £470 vs £300

Nice little mark up for the AD

If you dont mind an aftermarket strap, I would take a look at apbands.
Bought from then and I really liked the quality.

If it's for the Panda, then the OEM AP Singapore GP strap is what you need.

that would look great.

I think OEM is the best option as AP does have lots of choices and personally I'm not a fan of putting inferior straps on such a nice watch. There are some exceptions but I'm generally not a fan of third party accessories for an AP.

Still have my GP strap with the red lining, standard size unopened for sale if anyone is interested? It was bought for £500 however will take offers less than that.

If you no longer need it and it's unopened why not return it opposed to selling for less then you paid?

I'm not bothered about making money from it, would rather see it go to use with someone on TRF.

Seems a lot of money for a leather strap, AP or not AP.

I have however heard that they are slowly starting to reduce the amount of LE straps available, anyone else heard this?

No I have not heard that. APCS sells them to whoever wants them. Ad's are sometimes harder as they don't always know what that strap is so they might not have a product number to actually order it.

They will also make custom straps for you too, so if you want a GP with blue suede as opposed to black they will or to have different stitching colors etc. As long as they are making custom straps i see no reason they would stop producing other ones.

Also, its just referred to a calfskin strap as far as AP is concerned and is the only leather option for a 44mm. It did go on a LE watch but the strap is not a LE. Other straps I'm not sure, but the calfskin (gp) isn't a limited edition.

Wouldn't like to guess how much a custom one is!
