I was a small angel investor in the private German company that makes the battery electric technology for that Hinckley boat. We were acquired by a German public company in late September. I've personally used a Torqeedo 1003 battery/electric motor on a dinghy the past couple of years and it's terrific with no issues. Also, they can be charged a number of ways..

Would be cool if they could incorporate some sort of solar charging system into the boat for low power emergency operation if needed or just to extend the range a bit.
