Datejust dial in 1500 (34mm) case
hi all
After buying a lovely 1960s 6516 Lady Date for my wife as a Christmas present last year (sourced via TRF, no less), I've a hankering for a vintage (late 1960s) DateJust and I was intrigued by this watch - it appears to be a 1500 watch with 1560 movement, but has Datejust on the dial. I'm presuming it's a redial, but wondered if there ever was a 34mm DateJust dial, or if someone has printed Datejust on a dial that would otherwise have said simply, Date. What does everyone else think? I'm not sure about the hands either - any ideas as to where they're from? thanks! Ewan |

It's a redial, someone trying to make an extra buck probably. Those type hands are standard on 12XX hand wind movements and may be from there or maybe just some random aftermarket.
That style Date is popular because of the bezel. It measures into DJ territory and wears larger than a normal date. That's a good looking watch and original Date dials are cheap and plentiful. |

Thanks Richard - I quite like it but am wondering if the dial's been redone and the hands aren't original, then what else is there to worry about. Asking price is in the order of £1600 so it's not exactly cheap, but looks in OK condition otherwise. Will come with a rivet bracelet too.
