Hulk vs Batman

I have a sub c current model but I have been looking at both Hulk and Batman. Are the watches the same thickness and do they wear the same?
I have had my name down for ages at AD but fear I may need to take the pre-owned plunge!

The sub is a little thicker but less than a mm so not something noticeable, the caseback is flatter on the GMT, they wear very similar.

If u already have a Sub C, then the choice becomes easy for me , I would go Batman.

Recently was in same boat . . got 2012 Hulk used from a sterling UK dealer. I think I would have been happy with either Hulk or Batman TBH

Swings & roundabouts, one of them being PCLs and the lack of glidelock (imo) on the Batman, however you have the sub c, so you can take the bracelet and put it on the GMT

I've read the GMT is a little thinner, wears slightly lower & more comfy ? Not sure if this is true. It may be more versatile but not as interesting or unusual to look at as the Hulk dial (and you have Sub c for those other days)

Great input thanks. I was actually leaning towards the GMT as a more daily wear and putting my sub bracelet on it. I don’t like PCL’s at all. I think I was just st hoping it may wear thinner on the wrist.

That's what I did. Looks much better with the glidelock bracelet on it, and I love the glidelock adjustability.

Compared to the Sub, the GMT mid case is actually slightly thicker, the lug profile is very slightly slimmer and the case back is not as deep/thick. Overall thickness of the GMT is slightly less than the Sub.

In reality you'll probably not notice

Biggest difference I suspect you'll feel is the Sub's clasp is a good bit longer than the GMT's (although the inner blade length is the same)

And the clasp adjustment of course (if you use it)

This is correct. GMT has a slightly slimmer caseback/depth and slightly slimmer lugs, so it will wear slightly thinner but not really noticeable IMO. I like the glidelock clasp much better on the Sub though, as my wrist does fluctuate just a tad during the day depending on the temperature and activity, so the Sub is much easier to change the size of the bracelet. I wish the BLNR had the glidelock TBH.

I love LVC and don't think it will be redundant to your collection. I am not the fan of color combo of BLNR. I'll have fingers across that Rolex will reissue RONR eventually then that will be the right piece to place money on.

You already have a Sub. So I say get the GMT. You can always the sub-lv later (if it is still around and price has sky rocketed )

People often talked about the glidelock on the Sub. It is a better design, but once you set your bracelet to a desired length, don't you just leave it and forget it? I haven't adjust the bracelet of my D-blue since the first day.

They wear very comparably, IMO. Two of my favorite fitting/feeling watches.

I actually prefer the GMT clasp as if I need to make a quick adjustment, it's much easier to to pull out the EZ link.

If you have the opportunity to buy Sub lv, so I think just do it, as it is more difficult to get nowadays with rumors about complete stop in 2018 . Batman is not so rare model anymore and waiting list is about 2-4 weeks in my local AD.

I will add to my reply above - as much as I love the BLNR, it is very number-heavy (which is what it was meant to be) and adds "busyness" to the bezel. The Sub (any sub) bezel uses numbers more discreetly and so the focus will be on the color, not the numbers.

BLNR. Had the same decision and as much as I like green, I love blue more :). Great decision to have but some may say the green gets old over time.

The green NEVER gets old. Plus no hideous PCLs. Tried BLNR on several times and there was no comparison. The LVc's dial is mesmerizing and changes in various lighting to appear a myriad of hues from black to shining emerald. Also, stop calling them Hulk and Batman - that is absolutely stupid.

Same difference, maybe shorter clasp of GMT is better for some but glidelock more useful for others.

I believe that the sub is slightly thicker to accommodate the greater depth water resistance. Other than that it comes down to which color scheme and functions you prefer, greater depth rating or multiple time zones. Personally I don't like the blue an black color scheme so for me it would be the hulk.

I gotta disagree here. Sub and gmt wear completely different for me. The thinner gmt is noticeably more comfortable on my wrist than the thicker sub. Even with the glide lock I can't get a perfect fit on the sub while the gmt wears perfectly.

I would love to have the hulk and batman but sub ln and batman is a great combo as well if you're ok with having 2 black dials.

I was recently in the same boat as you, narrowed my potential purchases down to these two beautiful pieces. I ended up pulling the trigger on the BLNR as I feel as my only Rolex it fits the bill perfectly. What does your heart say? I've always leant towards the BLNR since day one. But I hope to add the LVc to my collection one day. They're both amazing watches!

I'd go GMT, because of the more comfortable case back and extra complication, although I'd brush the bracelet and pick the black.
